No downloads for new techs, unless you want to download some mods....

There are new maps to download on some forum threads here, or you could just join a game that is hosting a map you down have, it will download automatically and the game will start, after that, you can play it all you want on skirmish, etc, and host new games with it.
- So good/popular maps tend to spread on their own, without you having to put much effort into getting them

It does only if you have the mods enabled when joining the game. The host and client must have the same mods enabled for it to work. That or no mods at all.

You have to forward port 2100 in your router.

It doesn't. Click "skip" when you see ads. :|

If you can't figure out how to use a website, you could alternatively try http://kbserver.netgear.com/kb_web_files/n101145.asp
