I was thinking about this when playing a game of risk: what would a board-game version of warzone 2100 look like? What stuff should there be in such a game?
Think about strategical wargames on a board like risk or axis & allies... They can be really fun sometimes, and if there was such a game based on warzone I would definately buy it!

the closest boardgame to warzone 2100 would have to be warhammer (not sure if 40000 is in there or not...)

Warzone 2100: Project vs. Nexus
Nexus would start with an extremely powerful pre-built base, but no trucks.
Project would start with, say, 8 tanks and 2 trucks.
It would be like Campaign 3!

I'm sure pumpkin had a whole bunch of ideas they wanted to implement, they were going to put a comic to print and everything(the preview is on the retail disc),but EIDOS wussed out and screwed them over. You could always start a tabletop game and use warhammer 40K like warzone 2100 units! xD
