Alpha Base Mission 11- Am I just an idiot?

I consider myself something of a moderately decent player. But that is beside the point.

Having finally taken a break from kicking the computer's, um.... rear end in skirms, I decided to play the campaign. So I advance to mission 11.

What is it I'm supposed to do? I advance my units to the enemy LZ, but there is a trigger point (both in the top and bottom courses) that causes the transport to arrive- at least, that I've noticed. A guide I DLed insists that "You are given 30 minutes on the timer, but you really have about half that." However, even if I pass the trigger zone with only 10 minutes up, the transport arrives.

I am sick of trying to beat this mission. I've tried literally dozens of variations over the past couple days. What am I missing? And frankly, I don't care how stupid I look, or how obvious the solution is- I just want past this darnded mission.

And if no one can solve my problem, can anyone spare a save directory for the start of mission 12? (I don't care about what units or whatever are built.)

don't worry i had the same problem. just don't do anything untell you got 3 load of heavy tanks then go AROUND to the back of the hill. attack the towers for a wile then a small convoy will arrive from the back, just like you did, kill them off fast and you should be able to beat it. one for the heavy canon tank has a artifact, grab it and run back to your lz

Is this the stage where the map is basically:

the bottom half is a big hill with a Scavenger base

The middle is a big valley

The top is a big hill with an enemy LZ and a huge number of enemy Lancer towers?

No your not an idiot, I'm having the same issue with this mission, haven't playes WZ in so long I can't even remember half the missions. Sad part is when I get to this mission I have so few tanks, I mostly play the previous mission by building using trucks and have no need for tanks. So I'm guessing when I start this mission, move my tanks over to the left edge of the valley and take a sensor tower truck with me?

Oh and also a bit off topic for this post I do remember a bug that stopped me in my tracks the first time I played the game (I have never been able to defeat the game because of this mission) I'll look it up in the Wiki after posting this, There is an "away" mission where you have to rescue a downed transport, whenever I started this mission it immmediatly ended. I mean as soon as my units touched the ground..... Mission Ends!

I hope when I get to this mission it doesn't happen cause I'll cry, lol

I'd say: Yes, it is.

Alright, then here's what you need to know:

In the deep valley between the northern and southern areas of the map is a Paradigm expeditiono force.

This force starts out against the extreme East edge of the map.

One it starts moving, it will move to the West, then up the ramp, to it's LZ, and depart.

Regardless of the time left, if this force makes it to the LZ, you lose.

Within the Expeditionary force is a... sensor tank I think (might be a Command tank, I forget). This guy is carrying an Artifact. The overall goal of this map is to retrieve that artifact.

If you manage to stop that unit and retrieve the artifact (though you'll likely have to deal with his escorts as well), then you have the full timer to complete the mission.

At least, that's how it's supposed to go, unless there is a bug somewhere.



What triggers the force to start it's approach I am unsure of; I always thought it just starts moving at 5 minutes in, but I cannpot prove that. Whenever I play this stage, I always have *just* barely enough time to trash the middle-scavenger base, nail the defenses of the west scavenger base, and set up a Repair facility before having to move my tanks into the valley to engage the Expeditionary force.

Alpha 11

This is a light mission if done right and fast. Have MB 1 board right away. Your LZ is in the SW corner. Reinforcements are fast at 1 minute. Send an AS unit, then the other MB. That will be all you need. Don't crowd the LZ with returning troops.

The road east leads past two scavenger bases, one south of the road and a large one in the SE corner. They are mop-up duty for MB 3. The constant flow of troops should protect the LZ. Send MB 1 into the valley with no delay. Scavengers are so many flies to swat now.

If you really rush you should intercept an NP team on its way south through the valley. If not you will have to chase them to their LZ and that won't be fun. With MD units to refresh whomever the NP focuses fire on you will gain the upper hand quickly. This team has the artifact you want (heavy cannon). Research it and its associated tower.

AS 1' should already be in the field with MB 2 on the way by now. Have MB 1 go east, then north through the pass there. The NE corner has another scavenger base. AS 1' takes the valley road north, discovering NP positions with a CO nearby for repair. Get the CO first, then the towers. There is a hill road leading to that area where MB 2 is to go.

You might want to give MB 2 4 MB, 4 AT, 2 MD and MB 3 4 MB, 4 MG, and 2 MD. That last group is to take out the southern scavenger bases and you will want more punch in MB 2 for duty against NP. Call in CO 9 when MB 3 arrives to build a repair facility near the LZ for recycling.

When MB 1 clears the NE corner then head west and finish off the last scavenger tower. That will remove the tank traps for MB 2. Have AS 1' follow MB 2 when the nearby towers are down. The NP LZ lies just ahead with a few NP AS for cover. The NP has discovered the value of rocket hard point, but with two MB teams and an AS they are dead meat. Take out everything. You should have 18 minutes or so to get back.

You will only recycle to build MB with heavy cannon. The three MB teams have 12 MB units among them and these will be upgraded for the next mission. Leave 2 MD and 2 AT in MB 1 and MB 2. Place the MG and the other MD and AT in group 3. Having all units head for the repair facility should disconnect the commander from his troops. Assign AS 1' to group 4.

The mission is easy if you think about it apart from destroying thier unit at the LZ lol all you need to do is build a quick force at your own base near the LZ just a fast and cheap force nothing serious and then put the on the transport and set them on thier way, as soon as they toach down send the to them objective dont worry about the scavengers they're weak and you'll mop up targets on the way, then as soon as you hit the enemy with the artifact hit the lancers and block the path so that the enemy medium cannons cannot get past, then mop up all thats left and you should be able to retrieve the artifact then start sending your reinforcements as you'll need them for the objective ahead lol. wb with your opinion guys

Well...I used Lancers and medium cannons Python Wheels to intercept the convoy in the valley then I built a little battery of mortars on the hill in front of the enemy LZ,without going too short to let the enemy transport arrive,built a sensor tower and then raid the enemy LZ with mortars and destroying everything.And so I solved the problem...after 3 days of careful planning(it wasn't careful,I just tried to intercept the tanks in the valley).Naturally I took with me mobile repair.I didn't care about scavenger at all(brought with me heavy-mg's to take care of them).This should be the mission,first destroy the expeditionary force,composed by some lancers and medium or heavy cannons(it's a long time I don't play campaign),then destroy all the enemy units at the LZ on the hill.
