Which mid-game (T2 mostly) weapon is it that you wouldn't miss if it was gone  ... not that we have such plans though, but it would be helpful to know what weapon is just wasting space in the weapon-selction menu. ;)

EDIT: Note that we are only taking direct/tank weapons into consideration, no arty or vtol weapons for now.

damn! i am batting 1000 here... i dunno why they even bothered with this weapon ( Assault Gun/Assault Cannon).

Just out of curiosity, why did you lump the assault cannon and assault gun together?

I find the cannon worthless, but the gun has some merit IMO ;p (vote withheld)

hyper velocity cannon or needle gun,think hyper velocity is a prerequisite for unlocking needle gun,so needle gun is the winner...

Assault cannon. Whilst the Assault Gun is useful, the cannon is incredibly poor against everything. It simply does not deal enough damage to be of any real use.

Assault Cannon. Not useless, just underpowered. BADLY underpowered. Being from the 'mass driver' part of the cannon tree it's really an AT specialist weapon and thus having no real power against heavy vehicles makes it kinda useless...

ATM Tank Killa is a bit naff as well, really need stats change to differentiate it from the Lancer, which it is identical to (but more expensive!). IMHO it should be weaker and fire FOUR rounds per salvo, so overall a *little* stronger than the Lancer.

MC is T1, not T2!

Needle is actually a GOOD weapon, but many judge it on first appearance which isn't fair as it's a 'base' T3 weapon and starts with no upgrades (like FLight) whereas the HPV has a full T1 and T2 of upgrades before its even researched. Gauss is a T3 tree and has a VERY steep upgrade curve, research some of them and you'll revise your opinions of Needle very quickly ;) Biggest question is why you put it here - both it and Scourge are T3 weapons and I'd say you're more likely to see Scourge mid-game  ::)

My vote was for single-assault cannon.  It's like someone invented a cannon designed to be a "rapid-fire anti-vehicle" weapon, but then failed to realize it doesnt (and even it's big brother Twin-AC) have the raw damage to overcome even a panther's armor threshold, let alone a Tiger/Python's... And for viper-esque units, the AssaultGun works just as well.

Only reason I ever research the AC is because the Twin-AC is the "heaviest" weapon that can go on a bunker structure, which is the most *defensive* of the base structure designs.  Figures :(.

i dont know about you guys but isnt the needle a T3 weapon. Oh man that AC freakin sucks man, i mean they must of not been paying attention when they were designing it, even with the  cheats its still underpowered and the twin variant is no different. both the MC and HVC are far better choices to use.

Wait wait. The assault gun is that squeaky little machinegun (that managed to KS all my huge tanks and made it self a hero at the expense of his brethren) right ? Then the assault cannon is the glorified medium cannon am I right ? and the HVC was blue colored barrel which I realised made good nexus bait....

The image of the assault cannon and the HVC are nearly identical; just a small attachment on the side of the turret really differentiates them.

The Assault Cannon is the glorified Light Cannon.  The HVC is the glorified Medium cannon, and a necessary pre-req tot he Needle gun.

Make more the damage difference more distinct will be good. Else really doesn't make much difference. Everyone use heavy cannon  ???

At least they have a point in Resurrection, thanks to the lack of TSC due to the code being based upon 1.10. In 1.11 the TSC (Twin Siege Cannon) was added after the Heavy Cannon and its range and firepower made the HPV, Needle and Rail irrelevant (and the AssCan unless you were some kind of TAssCan lover... strongest bunker). It was replaced with the *much* weaker Twin Heavy Cannon in 1.12, made you actually want to research the Gauss tree again.

I can see the HPV and AssCan having a lot more relevance in the "Redux" mod, especially if weapon size limitations are added (seeing as the AssCan is a class smaller than the HC, and the HPV smaller still, they'll fit on smaller hardpoints) but at the moment the AssCan in particular is so weak it needs rebalancing even in "vanilla" Resurrection.
