Vote for the most useless T1 weapon
Re: Vote for the most useless T1 weapon
Light Cannon. No doubt about it.
the thing is so weak, it's not even funny.
But personally, the Mini-Pod Rocket was one of my favorite weapons in Campaign Alpha.
Only cause it looks cool, and shoots faster than most weapons. ::)

We have tweaked Light Cannon for 2.0 a bit to make it a little bit more usefull.

Re: Vote for the most useless T1 weapon
Hah, I hadn't noticed. :-X
I was very happy with the fact that you guys added smoke to the Mini-Pod rockets.
When I first saw Mini-Pod Rockets in version 1.0, I thought they were some sort of laser spheres.
But now that they have smoke, it's clear to see they're rockets.
And I've never paid attention to how good Lancer AT and Bunker Buster rockets were, until a fellow from the forum named Delphinio totally annihilated me in a few of our Multiplayer skirmishes. xD

Re: Vote for the most useless T1 weapon
in the FIRST release of warzone.. there was ONLY tech one.. there was no T2-#
wasent even really a full tech one.. you get the lancers unlocked and that was it.. your at the end of the tech tree.. lancers were the god weapon back then... gods.. when they came out wiht the furst main update for the game that unlocked the rest of the main tech tree in multiplayer.. alot of people were shocked to all hell and very greatfull to alow WZ to FINALLY become the game it is now.

Re: Vote for the most useless T1 weapon
light cannon was basically useless because as soon as you get it you get the medium cannon which is much better in the same mission so it takes the point of having it plus iits pc version is underpowered compared to the psx version.
The mini pod rockets and artillery were nothing more than a bunch of noise makers, its only works on scavenger units since anything more advanced would seem almost invincible to it, even a light body unit would receive it as nothing more than a pinch.

Mini Pod.
I have the feeling Mini Pods are just some small fireworks launchers to celebrate the ennemy killing the mini pod units...

i liked the mini pod it s rapid fire makes up for its inaccuracy and lack of power
Return to your designated zone or be destroyed. You are in contravention of the new paradigm.

I never use Flamer, that useless at the middle and the end of the party.
Minipod and Mini-Rocket Artillery are useful against cyborg and light vehicles.

Play a multiplayer game against someone who likes to spam MG bunkers early. You'll appreciate the flamer, trust me ;pZoloom wrote:I never use Flamer, that useless at the middle and the end of the party.
Re: Vote for the most useless T1 weapon
Twin machinegun is not really useful in multiplayer as you can get heavy mg in a couple of researches after you get it.
About flamers, yes they are useful since they've been upgraded.
Mini-Rockets would need some more range to be useful as an artillery piece would be, so I would vote vor twin mg and mini-rockets (although I like more twin mg than heavy)

Re: Vote for the most useless T1 weapon
Lancer after the nerf.
Fully upgraded, does about half as much damage as a minipod. By the time you get it fully upgraded, it does about a third the damage a heavy cannon at that time would.
I'm surprised most people chose MRL. It's the best artillery weapon you can get in T1, and it's amazingly effective against pretty much everything.
I challenge anyone who voted "flamer" to a game with me.

Re: Vote for the most useless T1 weapon
Well light machine gun is the most easily skipped weapon in the game. Just for that I think it needs a change.
and minipods seriously mulch cyborgs probably more than any weapon for those who think its useless.
light cannon is also one of the very few T1 weapons that has it's uses on the t3 battlefield as well.

Re: Vote for the most useless T1 weapon
At the very Beginning the Mini-Rockets are the strongest Weapons, because of their Firing Speed. Flamer maybe too - i never really used them, have to try.
Light Canons get very strong afte a While (when the first Speed Improvements come) after Mini-Rockets and can be used even in T3, like ouch says.
The Machine Guns are very weak, they need a Change for sure. They should fire MUCH faster, like Uzis, which are much stronger because of their Speed. The faster Yellow Machine Guns should fire even faster too. Lets say, the Machine Guns should fire as fast as the Yellow ones, and the Yellow ones should fire as fast as Uzis, like 20-30 Hits per Second
Yellow Machine Gun? I don't know the name, i'm a bit tired.

Re: Vote for the most useless T1 weapon
mini-pod
they get killed too quickly for their cost IMHO.
and i dont like the small level of damage they do before they get mushed.
i would make it a direct fire version of the current mini-rocket battery, or make it a dual weapon like hydra racket pods on an apache.
Mini-Rocket Artillery
needs more range, should at least equal the bombard, MRLS IRL are far from short range,
as it is now, they just dont have the range a rocket arty system should, this would sort the lack of ability to take hits they suffer...
Flamer
havnt played the beta yet, so long as they are a menace to infantry & buildings, all is good.
flamers really should be given escorts with AT weaps. which is on the player to provide.
Machinegun
its like the blaster from quake, its crap, but its your first weapon, its purpose is simply so you have ANY gun.
the mg bunker should do 50cal damage if it doesnt already.
Twin Machinegun
i like um. on viper HalfTracks or tracks
light, fast, cheap, can still be used to kill borgs, raid & harass right up till the start if t3 due to their low weight & low cost + they have slight range advantage on the hmg.
i wouldnt mend keepin um around as cheap annoyance.(think flash tanks)
Heavy Machinegun
pretty much rules the T1 tech tree, not much doubt there, HMG Cobra's arent to be taken too lightly by anything bar heavy cannon/lancer.
Light Cannon
they get outclassed once you get the H-Can,
i would like um to be lighter in weight so they could be faster, i think they miss a niche there. light harassment vehicle.
i still use um to great effect that way on viper chassis
a niche that even the auto cannon cant cover due due to being too much of an expensive fat bitch in comparison
all in all, i gotta say Mini-Pod rockets
they just dont live long enough against even light cannon & dont have the punch for their cost & life expectancy.
and are a dreadful use of resources when put on a python or cobra.

Assault gun.Zi-Chan wrote:Yellow Machine Gun? I don't know the name, i'm a bit tired.
They're strengthened (from 20 to 24) in 2.1. A bit too much. My rebalance pulls them back to 22.psychopompos wrote:mini-pod

It has plenty of range. Keep in mind it's an artillery weapon, so it gets good multipliers against pretty much everything.psychopompos wrote:Mini-Rocket Artillery

They're a menace to everything except hardcrete. Even after all my nerfing in my rebalance, they can still kill with relative impunity. At least after my rebalance, some of them die in the process.psychopompos wrote:Flamer

I dunno. Why not just use HMGs? They're not really that much heavier or more expensive. And HMG has range 960, Twin has range 768. Although assault guns are much more fun when it comes to cheap annoyances.psychopompos wrote:Twin Machinegun

Or flamer cyborgs. A few flamer cyborgs can destroy HMG Cobras. Or anything else Cobras, for that matter.psychopompos wrote:Heavy Machinegun

Cannons aren't really meant to be light weapons. It weights 1000. It's relatively well balanced as it is.psychopompos wrote:Light Cannon

Considering Aivolution uses Mini-Pod Python Tracks while waiting for cannon upgrades, and they outclass fully upgraded lancers, I'd say that's been fixed in 2.1.psychopompos wrote:all in all, i gotta say Mini-Pod rockets
