Adding self repair to campaign

Ok since I've always wanted this self repair tech in campaign which is exclusive to nexus. Only way i could accomplish this was by using cheats which adds/researches totally everything which really messes up the game.
I only want this specific tech and play the campaign like normal.
Is there any way to do this by using cheats or modifying any data file?
Years ago i found something on web relating to editing some file but I can't remember now.

Yep. Enabling auto-repair in the campaign is slightly odd because of an initialization issue with it in campaign requiring it to be forcibly researched every time a new mission starts. This is easy enough to achieve and requires a single script command which I've added to the end of the cam_eventStartLevel event in the attached mod.

Note: Lightly tested.
