Legacy needs developers!
Re: Legacy needs developers!
Guess what starts with an "L" and still needs developers! One guess. :^3

Yes, yes. Everyone needs developers. Stop spamming.
Re: Legacy needs developers!
One thread constitutes spam? Where I come from, it's called a "bump".

As in the phrase "a spam upside the head"?

Two to one fight, that's not fair guys...

@/dev/kmem (everyone):
Don't try to bury my posts. Not only is it rude, I have a shovel, and I can use it for stuff other than digging. :^3
I only have two small threads, both of which have been here for weeks, and you are not required to click them. If you don't want to hear about it, don't click it.

Re: Legacy needs developers!
In this case, a 'bump' is the same thing as spamming.
There is no need to do it more than once a month.
As was said, everyone needs developers.

Re: Legacy needs developers!
Bumping once a month is also unacceptable. If everyone did that to their favourite thread/issue, this forum would become useless.
Actually, I consider any manner of "bumping" to be unacceptable, and that goes for everyone. If you want someone to pay extra attention to a thread, use channels outside of this forum.

Re: Legacy needs developers!
Not only is this making a mountain out of a molehill, (a thread getting bumped, which happens often enough and nobody cares), but I have a bad feeling that someone is trying something nasty to blast my project out of the sky with a missile fortress, not going to name anyone.
Good thing I brought my ground shakers.

Re: Legacy needs developers!
We need to face the fact, though, that people with knowledge of c/c++ and the determination to plough through the huge codebase that is the warzone2100 source, are not a widely available commodity.
I recently did a course in c programming basics and I've been browsing the source a bit, but bumping this thread will not give me more free time.
One might ask, what demographic are you even trying to reach, since you're posting in the casual discussion forum of wz2100.net ?

-insert deep philosophical statement here-
Re: Legacy needs developers!
Perhaps this would be an opportunity to respectfully ask under which parameters a bump 'would' be accepted?
Perhaps I may also propose that an acceptable bump is one that adds content to the site?
For example - the screenshots thread can get bumped with more screenshots and comments. A mod thread can get bumped with update information, including changelogs and the kind.
Perhaps this is one conflict where the best weapon for the job is a mechanic (trucks can build bunkers n hardpoints). ^_^

Re: Legacy needs developers!
@Jorzi: I just want anyone with decent character and at least mediocre knowledge of C/C++ who will follow project goals. I bump the thread because I fear it'll get buried. Now that I think about it, I suppose that is kinda cheating. I'll stop with the bumps, but I really do need help in development. The GUI code makes Chernobyl look like disneyland. And the globals... The globals...
@Avestron: I prefer EMP Plasma pits, but I'm out of those.
(Wait, why am I complaining about globals? I'm horrible about that!)

@bendib: Perhaps you should write in your signature that you're looking for developers for Warzone 2100: Legacy?
