Warzone 2100 Subversion history code swam in four dimensions

Post by qubodup »

Hey people,

I already said it on IRC, but in case you missed it: I created a code swarm (official page) of wz2100's Subversion code & content repository. In high definition!

You can watch it here (Vimeo) and if you have an account, even download the original .avi.

The four dimension are:
* commiting user (user name)
* ammount of commited content (dots, though I'm not sure what the size represents)
* time (each frame is one quarter of a day)
* type of commited data (colors indicate doc/ data/ or everything else)

Enjoy!

Looks like the Project got a boom at around August 2006, that vid became funny starting from that date. xD

Hmmm, it isn't very accurate, but that is ok, still looks nice.

What is not accuarte about it? (I'm curious because I want to know if it's only for looks or if it can be used as statistical data visualization..)

I just meant that it don't take into account patches done by someone else, and it just goes by whomever committed the patch.

Not that it matters much, but it tends to skew things.

That is quite possibly one of the coolest things I have ever seen done with SVN logs and commit history. Ever. O_O
