New Scavenger AI for skirmish games: dydo-scav

Hello

I have worked on a new scavenger AI ("dydo-scav" I know...I have not much fantasy...) to be used in skirmish games.
Do not expect too much from this AI, the scope is to use it in 1vs1 games to make life harder for human player.

Download
  • it builds up to 35 droids of 9 types
  • it run attacks, mainly against human player derricks
  • it has two teams wandering (scouting) between oil resources
I have tested it only on the map 2c Twinny Hilly

Please let me know on which other 2players map I can test it!

This AI will be soon part of DyDo v2.1.x packages.
My Warzone 2100 mods:
Download DyDo-AI for Warzone skirmish/multiplayer games.
Download A2C-HM (Alpha 2 Campaign - Hard Mode).
Download A3C-HM (Alpha 3 Campaign - Hard Mode).

Sounds great!! One thing though, does it make use of the scavenger "help" radius script? Olrox had a problem with the scavs on the other end of the map coming to help in a totally different area if just one of the buildings was attacked.

I do not know what you are talking about. There is no "help" functionality in this scavenger AI.

Clear now. Yes this behavior is also in the dydo-scav AI. All scav droids are sent to protect the attacked structure regardless of the distance they have from that structure. I will see if I can deal with this and introduce the "aid radius" suggested by Olrox.

Dydo scav AI is nice, but it makes 1-1 games easier. Scavs attacks are not so sever so I can defend my derrics with a couple of MG towers. At the same time scav prevent Dydo AI from attacking me.

To make this work, Dydo Ai should be allied with Dydo scav Ai

I can increase the numbers of units dydo-scav is using to attack.

This is not possible, I do not know if this is a wanted feature or a bug but the createAlliance() does not work for scavenger AI...(yes, I tried it with unlocked alliances)

Be sure to remove this debugging mode in next dydo scav (messages that tells the player what scavengers are doing). It is ok for test version, but not for official release in 2.3.

It would be best if scavs do not attack dydo, but use their forces only to attack human player. I am not sure if this will work, because I feel that scavengers will be protecting me against dydo in early game. Alliance dydo+scav is probably the only possibility I think. Could you please try to find how to make scavengers allied with Dydo? This would surely make games more intensive and harder in 1-1 duel.
