2.3 Beta 12 released

Bug Reports:
As usual, we need bug reports to fix problems in the game. Please note that we use tickets only to track bugs, for discussions about how features should work and feature requests we have a dedicated forum section.

For bug reports, see BugReporting for details, in short:
  • Search the existing tickets for your problem, if the problem has already been fixed in SVN, the ticket will be closed.
  • If there is an open one already, feel free to add more info to it.
  • If there is no report yet, make a new ticket.
  • Be as detailed as possible in both summary and description, and either log in with your forum account or leave an email address so we can contact you if we need more information.
  • The more information we have, the easier it is to fix problems, so include savegames/instructions to reproduce the bug, crashdumps, backtraces, screenshots for graphical problems... if you have.
  • When you attach files to a ticket, please add each text/image file separately and uncompressed, so we can view them easily in trac (savegames can and should be zipped, they consist of name.gam, possibly name.es, and the files in the name/ folder).

    • Fix: Make sure all templates get all weapons. This hopefully fixes the cyborg leg issue (r10352, ticket:1687)
    • Fix: On new player joining, init the struct before setting flags (r10331, ticket:1688)
    • Fix: Add new AI script function that gives position to build a structure while checking that a given droid can build it (r10323, ticket:1626)
    • Fix: When droids are taken over, don't send droid count, since droid count isn't read, making the message unparsable (r10038, ticket:894)
    • Fix: Use isFlying instead of isVtolDroid for checking AA targets, AA can now also shoot down transports (r10319)
    • Fix: Fix droid frustration so that droids do not start the game frustrated, make sure that scavs never fire at features (r10085)
    • Fix: Fix the game getting completely messed up if anyone changes position or colour, and then someone leaves (r10069)

NTW Button Transparent Fix

Copy this File into your mods\multiplay Folder and it will fix the Buttons.

This Version isnt compatible with the 2.3 beta 12 NTW File.
So you cant play with other Peoples which dont have this fix.

I've played a MP game, 4 humans vs 4 bots. No issues!

I'll keep testing. =3

EDIT:

I found the first bug, submitted to ticket #1726 Oil derricks dissappearing... (Both building and resource)

Sorry, but they were ok at my side, and the others started leaving as they got annoyed, I just have been able to see the last one, when he was starting to leave.

(Basicly, I could see some units and two missing power resources where they should be) I've been talking to them again this morning, they told me that it started happening after an oil derrick gets destroyed.

As possible interesting information, I will add that the game was done on 8P-MizaMaze

Crashed right after trying to start Tutorial. Stderr got:

Before entering tutorial I was fiddling with options menu, then multiplayer 'host a game' menus. (but didn't host a game). Now it works, but I can see that my internet connection is down - but it was working while I loaded this page after crash. (could it be malfunctioning during the tutorial start?)

I had the opportunity to test the beta 12 release a bit on Windows now, and found the following oddities:
  • Even though I set language to English, in the keymap options menu (and only there), some entries appeared in Norwegian.
  • If I enter the start skirmish dialog, then go back to start the tutorial, the game crashes with a template error.
  • If I get a crash while playing in full-screen mode, I get a black screen, and I have to ctrl+alt+del to get to the OS before I can see the error dialog box and exit the game.
Anyone else have the same issues?

I can confirm via play that Tank Killer's work fine in campaign now. It also makes the Collective TK vehicles rather more dangerous.

Looking at the keymap file, the descriptions are saved in that, so yours probably has the translated ones from the first run in Norwegian.

So I suppose that this happens with me and the spanish layout?

EDIT: Changed the keyboard layout on the windows' control panel for testing, seems like it was a problem on my side.

My friend noticed, that when loading a campaing savegame (saved at the start of cam 2, 3, just after finishing cam 1 or 2), you start campaing with 0 or close to 0 energy. When continuing from the 'mission successfull' screen starting energies were 4796 (2nd) 16000 (3rd)

This happened on beta 11a, I haven't seen that discussed yet - is it a bug?

Don't those things happen on mac & linux machines as well?
All full screen games do this, unless they give control back to the OS before the crash.

just won a match on startup in multiplayer, and i had no problems. The game ran perfect and i'm on windows, great work:)

ps i love how the screen turns green ripple thinge, and says "mission accomplish".
