still have no menu text with the new build.

Hm, we've always had some problems with the fonts on Windows. Is there anyone where it actually works? If so, please speak up...

Same thing here.

It compiled fine on my AMD64 Gentoo machine, but there are the menu issues installing on my girlfriend's Windows lappy.  I've tried both Windows binaries, neither shows text, even with the QuesoGLC DLLs in the Warzone directory.  I also tried compiling QuesoGLC 0.7.0 in Cygwin, but it refuses to compile (it seems that the Windows version relies on MSVC header files that I don't have).

Am I missing something here?  :-\

Greetings all, and congrats on the 2.1 release, what I've seen on my Linux machine rocks!

In my test, all seems to worke fine. Didn't look for bugs yet.

Do you have a folder "etc\fonts" with DejaVu fonts in your Warzone directory?

It does NOT have to be "etc\fonts", but only "fonts".
Inside that directory there should be a "fonts.conf" file. Search for "CUSTOMFONTDIR" (that exact string) in it. Is it present? Or did I make a mistake when creating the installer?
Or is QuesoGLC now completely broken? :(

Update: I can see problems on Linux with the fonts, too. Maybe those are the same/similar to the Windows issues. (It runs fine in Wine, though...) Apparently QuesoGLC is a bit broken. :(
(Ignore the black terrain, that is the result of me trying to rip out some float-emulation code in the terrain lighting...)

yep no text here on winXP either. the font folder does exist with 2 files: fonts.conf and DejaVuSansMono.ttf

also, I seem to be missing another file when trying to build it for myself: bison.exe

I see. No shouting please. Ok? Thanks. ;)

Looks like the font folder is not the problem, since it works ok on one of my machines but on another one the menu text is not rendered.

You will have to get it from here,  if you are on windows.

If you will experience problems with 2.1, get version 1.875-4.

Another issue. I have just noticed that this beta comes with Aivolution AI as a MOD, which can be installed using the installer. Unfortunately the installer only installs Aivolution for player 0. As a temporary solution replace aivolution.wz file located in mods\global directory with this file.

Remember in order to be able to use MODs you must create a shortcut for warzone2100.exe and run it with this command line option:

Code: Select all

--mod modName
For Aivolution AI use:

Code: Select all

--mod aivolution.wz
For Grim's texture MOD use:

Code: Select all

--mod grim.wz
