Re: Basic warzone .txt editor (not released yet)
SQLite is really easy to use. I've been useing it for writeing applications for my job for awhile now. It's also easy for a third party to edit it too as long as it's not encrypted. just use this: http://sqlitebrowser.sourceforge.net/ if you have "Open Office" the database app in that call...

Re: *Real* nightly builds!
Well I ran r6072 last night and I have to say it's looking pretty good. The only problems I ran across was that I couldn't add more than one AI. (I tried for 4 on the map I played, but only 1 decided to show up) and you somehow broke the shift click movement queue. oh, and the units for some reason ...

Re: Version 2.1 beta 4 released and other news
I strongly disaprove of LUA, At least if it's like gimps Script-fu language. every statement must be in parenthisess. and and the way local variables are handled is just short of evil. I've never so intensly counted parenthisess pairs in my life...

Re: Warzone is as good as I remember it BUT
I think it's funny when starcraft fans claim "Perfect" balance. All you have to do is mass produce terran marines and you could win every match. the brood war expansion made it even worse by allowing you to heal the marines. The interface was just as bad, only 12 units selected at a time? ...

Re: Everything you wanted to know about Warzone's FMVs.
I've PMed jaywalker_eidos contact information for the lead programmer/designer of hardwar for those who care about hardwar. Anyway, back warzone 2100 land... That's really awsome news. those 2 things where the only things that seperated this version from being the definate successor to 1.10 in my mi...

sweet, now if you only knew someone from within Atari... (trying to get another old game called "Hardwar" released open source... all emails generate a generic "thank you for contacting us..." responce and nothing else.)

Re: cb tower?
that works simular to the standard sensor module. basicly any enemy unit in range gets targeted. any thing targeted gets all the units assigned to the sensor to fire at it. keep in mind it targets the closest unit as well, so you get concentrated fire on that particular unit. this may, or may not, b...

Re: cb tower?
CB stands for "Counter Battery". it detects any incoming indirect fire weapons and calculates where the shot came from and targets the unit or structure that shot it. any units or structure defenses that you have will fire upon the shooter. the vtol version will send any vtols assigned to ...

bomb bay balanceing...
it seems there splash damage ring is too small and thier over all damage done is pretty small compared to the heavy wieght your unit has to deal with. even basic vtol defenses chews up vengance body equiped vtols when the vtol has a bomb bay because it has to move so slow to get anywhere. the plasmi...

I've updated the anti-virus program I se and it didn't do it this time. I think it was a "generic" virus warning.

I got a virus warning while installing 5215.
not sure if it's a false positive, but thought I better throw it out there.

Re: Everything you wanted to know about Warzone's FMVs.
It specificly said FMV in the original doc. FMV is just a format, to me this means the actual images contained in the format should be ok to use. not to mention the images just contain rehashes of of the ingame models, so why wouldn't they release them? It doesn't make any sense. I mean come on, eve...

Re: How do I select like units?
you can do that with commanders. basicly assign a factory to them and any units built from that factory go and join the commanders attack group.
