I'd pick CB too, I can't think of any other games with that.
Total Annihilation had the return fire, but only the units that were attacked would return fire, and they couldn't shoot back if they were killed by the first hit.

Yeah, the scavenger faction could probably work like the Terrorists in C&C Generals, they can build units and structures cheap, so they quickly grow in numbers, but individually their units are weaker both in firepower and armor. Would be awesome if features (like the skyscapers in the urban map...

I love the mech concept, and would love to be able to play with it, but I do see the point that the inclusion of an entirely new type of unit would probably be a too big change to be part of the 'official' game, but that doesn't mean it couldn't be included as an 'official' mod or expansion, kind of...

wats up w/ the fire support option? is it the commander or units that give supporting fire? fire support means that you allow the commander to designate targets for your artillery, anything you target while the commander has fire support will be attacked by your artillery emplacements. ever since I bought the retail version I've loved the ripple rocket artillery. They look awesome and menacing in emplacement or mobile artillery form, and when they fire and send rockets all over the screen it's just beautiful. Most of that stuff is in the showcase section I think, but look around and you'll see elio's awesome HQ and research center, and there are other's who have made new factory models etc.
