No you're not.

I do a lot of modelling for fun so i'd better use all that time for something useful such as this. I hope you like the second vid.

Re: FMVs => just a thought

Image

It might seem a bit over shiny but in an animation the effect will be far less noticeable.

Working on animation right now

Re: FMVs => just a thought

Glad you like the video. I found this on the VCL website 3.1. May I use the VideoLAN logo? You may freely use the VideoLAN logo using the following copyright: Copyright (c) 1996-2003 VideoLAN. This logo or a modified version may be used or modified by anyone to refer to the VideoLAN project or any p...

zzzZZZzzz... Aah, he's finished! wake up time for me! Warning: A lot of Stolen lines from KAGE below: i can mirror the file as well -- you can send me anything of any arbitrary size, but any user downloading a file of more than 10 or so MB will find it painfully slow (i've got 45 KB/s total upload)....

Re: FMVs => just a thought

Ah, damn, perhaps that promised a bit much... I won't go running to implement video playback for a two second clip. Investigating if and how it's possible will take some time anyway. But if you get a serious team together that's ready to produce some videos, you don't have to care about what format...

Re: FMVs => just a thought

What kind of legal obligations? I meant NO legal obligations. As any bitmap or jpeg or png or whatever can be freely distibuted Have to be more carefull next time or this will lead to problems :s sry EDIT again: If someone wants to start making some videos: Don't bother with actual file formats etc...

Re: FMVs => just a thought

afaik it is wireframe only (you mean nexus, don't you?). I think it's wireframe with some visual effects applied. but you'd still need to model and animate the wireframe. this should probably be done by someone more experienced than me. BTW: Can i use a student licensed version of 3Ds Max to recrea...

Re: FMVs => just a thought

OK so you say it would be easier to let warzone do the frame processing than to implement some sort of REAL video player. Also this would have no legal obligations about use of playback software since you're going to code some sort of a frame to video compiler. For modelling and animation work this ...

Don't think i can model and animate dr. reed by myself. A NASDA satellite firing a missile is one thing but a human talking head is something completely different. + you forgot the textures :p

Re: FMVs => just a thought

It's true that WZ would need to be substantially modified to accomodate external FMV-type displays, but the actual number of FMV's doesn't need to be great. There were very few of the original videos that I don't think couldn't be done better just via scripted scenes.  Many of the intra-stage clips...

Re: FMVs => just a thought

Just a note: We have had this discussion lots and lots of times... Not exactly, This time i really want to create something not just speculate how the movies could be made in the future. This topic is meant to get a feel about interest in the FMV's, Something like a pre production research thing or...

Re: FMVs => just a thought

What i need most is manpower. I don't  want to do this unless the quality is atleast equal oh that of the original cutscenes done in realtime hardware rendering with the wz engine will never give you as much detail as the originals. It could be a nice substitute if nothin else was available but I wa...

FMVs => just a thought

Hi, Not many people here will know me but i have been involved in the wz community ever since NEWST was still around ,I ve somehow just found a renewed interest in wz. It bothers me that a lot of people just cannot understand the true story behinf wz without the fmv's. So what i'm proposing is that ...
