Re: Cannon models (light, medium and heavy). Request to join
A wireframe render http://andeye.dnsalias.net/goran/lancer1_wire.jpg As you can see, the shape is quite basic, which is neccesary if you want to create something with just over 100 tris. All the detail is baked from the hi-poly model (which has around 35000 tris, thanks to the subsurface subdivision...

Re: Cannon models (light, medium and heavy). Request to join
Hmm... I see what you mean, but a good-looking solution would propably require more polygons...
I'll see what I can do.
EDIT: Thanks Olrox

Re: Cannon models (light, medium and heavy). Request to join
http://andeye.dnsalias.net/goran/cannon_comparison.jpg There you go :) I personally think the sizes are about right and I don't think that barel visibility will be a problem. The original barrel texture actually seems to be designed to make the barrel look thinner so that the muzzle brake would sta...

Re: Cannon models (light, medium and heavy). Request to join
I've always thought of the straight cannon barrel as being simply a way of saving polygons for more important purposes
but I've thought about it and made some changes, I'll post them tomorrow

Re: Cannon models (light, medium and heavy). Request to join
Thank you Buginator and Olrox :) And thanks also for the practical tips, I hadn't even thought about the VTOL cannon. As I said I have a 256x256 texture and the polycounts are 112, 134 and 150 so no problem with that (although I may be able to lower the heavy cannon's polycunt a bit). I have, howeve...

Re: Cannon models (light, medium and heavy). Request to join
Now that you say it, it does look a bit soviet-like, it's propably mostly because of the colour  Anyway I modified the texture to make use of a teamcolour mask, and I also turned up the contrast and highlighted the edges in order to make the details visible when zoomed out as well. http://ande...

Re: Cannon models (light, medium and heavy). Request to join
Thanks guys, made some colour textures in GIMP today http://andeye.dnsalias.net/goran/cannon_colour.jpg About the machinegun likeness, I also thought a bit about it, but I think the colouring solves that issue. After all, in reality the only difference between a light cannon and a heavy mg is the si...

Models by Jorzi (AR)
Hi, I'm new at this forum. I'm a fan of warzone ever since i played the demo (and the full version) when it first came out. I've been modeling in blender for a few years and when I read about this AR project I got quite interested, especially since there are already working export/import scripts for...
