Re: Whats up with AA defense?

The VTOL Radar Tower and Patrol mode don't work properly if there are ground targets in the area. Your fighters will go after those ground targets and ignore incoming enemy aircraft.

For a region where there are no enemy ground entities, the Radar Tower works well.

Re: AA Missles,any?

No. This game can't have AMRAAMs. AMRAAMs are long-ranged BVR weapons mounted on actual fighter aircraft. Actual fighter aircraft do not exist in Warzone, and maps are not large enough to create a need for units that fast, that high-flying, and that heavily-armed. If maps were that big, tanks would ...

Re: Whats up with AA defense?

I get that somethings have to been downgraded in order to balance the game
It's not balancing. It's a bug.

Re: VTOLs:they're not VTOLs

The F-35B Lightning 2 stealth strike fighter can take off and land vertically.

It cannot hover in combat.

It uses lift-fan based VTOL technology.

Warzone 2100's VTOLs use lift-fan based VTOL technology.

I think you can get the point from here.

Re: AA Missles,any?

As for existing weapons, the VTOL-fitted Minipod, Lancer, Tank Killer and Scourge Missile can all target aircraft, but are not optimized to do it. They are mainly anti-tank weapons and will attack ground targets unless they're held back and manually babysitted. I don't think the VTOL-mounted version...

Re: AA Missles,any?

I made a little mod for the "Stinger AAM", an air-to-air missile launcher carrying 6 400-damage(without upgrades) Anti-Air Missile weapons with enough delay between shots to prevent overkill and allow for one fighter to engage up to 6 targets one-after-another before having to rearm, thoug...

Re: AA Missles,any?

Air-to-air combat is not well-integrated in Warzone, since VTOLs are actually just ground-attack helicopters going by a different name. You can still get planes to maybe fight each other using VTOL Radar Towers or telling them to patrol the enemy flight path in a region free of enemy ground units. O...

Nah, they're controlled by onboard cybernetic "brains" like the ones in the research center, which learn from previous engagements and improve their targeting. Experienced brains are removed when a tank is recycled and are installed on new vehicles as they are built. Trucks and repair vehi...

Re: About light vehicles

Hi guys, When i finished a game, I'm saying all the time that at the end of a battle, bigs tanks are already winning. But when i build some light vehicles for mass attacks, hit & run, i see the cost of the vehicle and come white : wtf that's almost the same price as a big tank ! I think light v...

Why don't we see real military vehicles do this? All the wheeled military vehicles I've seen so far use wheels that turn.

Re: New wheels for large bodies

These new Heavy Body wheels look nice, but, uh, how the heck are they supposed to turn, with their top halves covered like that? I know that the wheels don't actually turn in this game, but still, it just doesn't seem logical. Maybe the front two wheels can be completely uncovered so as to let the v...

Re: Planes...

I don't know skirm. You say those would be useless in real life, but I imagine an aircraft rated with as much survivability as an M1A1 and all the speed of an F35 would have at least some use, even if it's loadout was single-minded :P Survivability of an M1A1? Since when have VTOLs been so tough? T...

Re: Future Weapon Ideas???

Not missiles relying on antimatter as the primary warhead, but to initiate nuclear fusion. An antimatter-triggered fusion warhead is a type of thermonuke, and I was trying to avoid nukes based on the Project's phobia of nuclear weapons. Though, this phobia may extend to antimatter-based weapons too...

Does that thing actually shoot? Awesome piece of work, it makes the existing fortifications look like plastic chew-toys.

Re: Bunkers vs. hardpoints in armor research

Improving Hardcrete technology makes all hardcrete stuff(walls, hardpoints) tougher, and makes all bunkers and fortresses tougher.
Improving Base Structure Materials technology makes base structures like factories and research labs tougher.
