Re: Keyboard Shortcut for Cyborgs

I don't exclusively use tracks, it depends on the map type, but I do heavily favor them when there are only a few chokepoints to defend (or attack), or when I have an adequate defensive wall (on NTW maps). If it is a larger, relatively "open" low oil map, I will use hovers to attack wherever the ene...

Re: No-rush option for Single Player skirmishes

You are advocating using an exploit (half builds)....

Great.....

Re: 100+ patrolling VTOLs vs. heavily defended enemy base :)

I have *NEVER* seen the AI build anything that comes close to an adequate AA defense.

You should play multiplayer on a high oil map.

If you don't have rows of whirlwind or storm bringer 4 deep, you are in trouble mid to late game.....

that was a lightly defended base, as far as air defense is concerned.

Re: Penny for a noob sir?

I personally don't find assault cannon that appealing, though its splash would matter vs cyborgs, its only slightly better DPS does not make up for its lower range, IMO, for tank to tank, or anti structure uses. In massed tank battles (high oil), units at the back with AC may not be able to fire, wh...

Re: Keyboard Shortcut for Cyborgs

I would also like a shortcut for all ground combat units. ctrl-a doesn't work so well when I want to keep my VTOLs separate. If I'm not using cyborgs, I can use ctrl-T, as I often switch almost exclusively to tracks for combat units (though if I have left over combat half tracks, they can get mixed ...

Re: In the Fine Guide: Both a prerequisite and an upgrade?

The upgrades are applied to all weapons of the same class. ie, the machinegun, twin machine gun, heavy machine gun, assault gun, and twin assault gun, all use the same upgrades. The ROF upgrades are automatically applied to the base values of the weapon, thus *normally* your assault guns start with ...

Re: Twin AG, get rid of it.

I rarely use python half tracks, scorpion tracks are significantly cheaper, and build faster, and are nearly as good in a fight (MG vs MG). The speed difference isn't much, the tech difference isnt that much. Scorpions pack in tighter than pythons as well- good for MG battles, bad for heavy cannon/h...

Re: A complete WZ playthrough on Youtube

yea.... I did a playthrough again a while back, and found the lancer upgrades (ROF and damage) and the scourge upgrades (just rof) actually worked.... and soon found no reason to use anything else. Given how much upgrades matter, its a sign how OP lancer was in 1.00, when I was still using it alongs...

Re: A complete WZ playthrough on Youtube

That Guy doesn't know how to use commanders or mobile sensors..... How else are you going to get hero rank units, he seems to recognize the advantage of experience, by commenting when destroying walls about free experience, and experience is good.... But he doesn't use sensors units for his mortars,...

Re: I hate ripples

the problem with ripples, is they outrange everything aside from Archangels, and they are available before everything(in terms of artillery) but mortars. The other problem is that it uses the direct fire upgrade class, so you don't have to divert research to upgrade artillery, as you must do with ho...

Twin AG, get rid of it.

IMO, the Twin AG is overpowered. I never liked when the "Twin" weapons were added. For a while, there was even a Twin heavy cannon, thank god thats gone. The twin weapons basically just make the single weapon useless, though the twin mg is a special case due to being really early game, and a number ...

I'd rather just see newly built transports armed with the assault gun once the relevant tech is researched.

Re: Thermal based anti-tank weapons.

problem with this is, those plasma cannons are so far up the tech tree, and so expensive and heavy, they rarely see the light of day, though I could be wrong. Nope, you are right, Plasma cannons are crap. They are the most expensive turret by a large margin, have low HP, and low range for their tec...

Re: successor for Bunker Buster

This is getting silly A railgun barrel is essentially a rectangular prism with a very small caliber tube in the center There is nothing that dictates it must be a rectangular projectile, nor nothing that dictates a maximum caliber. All that is required, is that the barrel be composed of two parts (n...
