The problem is that the models may not look that good if the style is not consistent. The current old set of models all work quite well together, and if you only replace some of them they will look out of place. That's why we're aiming to remake all the models so that they all have the same style. A...

I guess this wall will only be thicker, not technologically superior. Maybe "citadel wall" / "fortress wall" is more describing in that case

What program(s) are you using? In blender I can do good uv-layouts very quickly, I just mark the seams, use the standard auto-unwrap feature and move the pieces around a bit. I can even do it for you if you send me the model (preferably in 3ds or obj) although I will not be available until monday.

I've had 100k power quite often in campaign2, you just have to use the time available and not build new units all the time, however, I haven't considered it a bug, but a natural balancing limit

Normal mapping would certainly be nice, although I texture my models so that they will work nicely without it as well. I like the challenge of putting as much detail and realism as possible into an unshaded model restricted to ~100 polys. It makes you think of how all those computer resouces are act...

Hmm ok, the thing with 256x256 was that I'd be able to fit 4 maps into a 512 size texpage. Also the low resolution forces me to only add details that will actually show up and not be too small.

After tweaking some settings I actually managed to bake in the pipes without adding geometry :D

Textures are raw hi-res(1024x1024) baked maps, after getting rid of a few artifacts I'll downsize them back to 256x256
