Re: A Fix to the Power Problems - Batteries/Powercells
I don't think that the battery/power cell idea will solve the power problem, either. So I'm not necessarily an advocate of all of that specific idea. However, I am an advocate of anyone who intelligently posits an idea and believe that that individual deserves intelligent responses to their ideas. I...

Re: A Fix to the Power Problems - Batteries/Powercells
I'm not sure what all this hysteria is all about, nor the visceral knee-jerk mouth-foaming reaction to any sort of proposed change/improvement/addition to the game. I think SC or TA got a lot of things right as did WZ. To completely distance ourselves from the good things of good games in the same g...

Re: -_-
so what your saying is that converting to C++ is a no go??? No, sorry, I didn't mean to mislead anyone. I didn't emphasize enough that what I did was on the original 1.10 source - merely work done out of curiosity. It is absolutely possible to convert to C++. I was ultimately successful to get the ...

Cyp: That's the key. Don't let them get to the LZ.

Re: -_-
Okay, enough of the smileys XD I was curious to know what kind of effort would be required to convert the 1.10 C code to compile in C++ without using permissive compiler settings. The results are illustrated above. Except for the ~30,000 error one - I was just messing with you guys there. I simply c...

Re: Task is performed ((((. Someone took it?
That mission is actually pretty simple once you know what it is that you're supposed to do. As soon as you get to the mission zone, you will want to do standard stuff like build a repair facility. Send your group into the valley (accessible easily beyond the first scav. base). If you are fast enough...

Re: Models by Jorzi (AR)
Agreed - after 13 years of wear & tear (wz2100 is 13-years post-apocalypse) I wouldn't expect ANYTHING in the game to be shiny and new. Especially ANYTHING that is being used by a scavenger/barbarian.

Re: Linux and Windows Versions Incompatible
That is quite an assumption to make about your users, especially for something as usually undemanding as a game [...] Normal end-users should not be expected to delve into using dev packages in order to play a game with some friends. Maybe that is a sign of my ignorance (although in my defense I ha...

Re: A Fix to the Power Problems - Batteries/Powercells
After thinking about it a bit, I think with WZ's unlimited power GPM the batteries would only be useful to guard against the situation where the enemy destroys many of the player's oil derricks. It would be useful in that case to continue to have guaranteed power input. But on the grander scale, I d...
