Problem is targeting an incoming group of medium vtols going fast as heck in a swarm of dozens. The vtol attack tower is good for this situation but as stated it tends to get destroyed. The terrain is the terrain, by its very nature it will define the game, and adapting the base and armies to the terrain is one of the joys of warzone. I don't see this as inbalance but you are right. Rank should be non-decreasing. So that people didn't ever want to wipe it. Right now it isn't (medal can be taken away, and hard to recover). A medal system is needed so people can do their own matchmaking. There is no need for automatchmaking if the medal system is solid. There will always be a few exploits, even with encryption, but I think it is easier to make a working medal system than to get all sweaty and bothered coding an automat...
