Re: New menu backgrounds
It does look phenomenal. But the lighting/shader on the struts towards the right could use a more 'metallic' look. May I have a copy of source file? I want to try it in Blender's rendering engine, with Ambient Occlusion turned on. Keep in mind that most of the time in space you don't have such s...

Re: Osmic's 3D Models
The double turret base in Per's in-game screenshots looks like it didn't round any decimals or I was very lucky when I made it since it looks exactly like in the renders. Knowing what one Max unit equals in real life would prevent me from making e.g. a door for mice or in another case one that a oil...

Re: Osmic's 3D Models
I don't know what one game world unit (or a Max unit) is in real world so I had to take a wild guess. Does anyone know what it is?
If there is need for a tile filled with something, just let me know. It's a really quick thing to do.

What program are you using ?
Are you going to convert the models to pie files to use in game ?
Photoshop and Max.
I focus solely on the art.

Leafy thing.
Edit: added another render, which fits better on a brown terrain.

Re: Osmic's 3D Models
Here's a bush model with an alpha map. It should look ok watching at it from any angle. Both textures and the model itself are in the archive.

I think the red sky looks best out of all the above with the black fog. If only there were red specular highlights it would totally roxor my you-know-whats.

Re: Style Guide
I think getting content over 'style' is the first objective. When that content is released, then someone can change/fix the texture(s) up. As the old saying says, beggars can't be choosers. ;) This applies to everything we currently need done. Actually, there's two things I mentioned that in fact s...

Style Guide
I was talking to Per the other day came to the conclusion that there isn't a comprehensive style guide to help keeping the visual style coherent. I think this is a problem when someone wants to contribute a model and there's a huge possibility that it ends up looking very different from the rest. My...
