Re: Warzone 2100 Liberation Day

Very well put Rman! I was always a sidelines in the back closet kind of team member and was always encouraged with the amount of work that was going into the game. It inspired me to put in my all when working on the new stuff and testing the heck out of it. Even to this day my experience with all of...

Re: Warzone 2100 Liberation Day

Howdy everyone, its like a blast from the past! I am pretty sure there are archives of various forums from long ago floating around. Glad to see some people that have them are still around. Don't know what use they would be.... but I am sure it would bring back a bit of nostalgia. XD @cowboy, I thin...

Warzone 2100 Liberation Day

Hello All, I thought I would take the time to stop by and see how Warzone is coming along. For those that remember me, hello how's it going. For those that don't, glad to meet you. I remember back in the day working on 1.11 it was such a struggle to balance new technologies, when for every technolog...

oil derick blip positioning glitch

So while playing a 2 player mayhem map with my dad, I noticed the following. If there is a new oil resource the blue blip starts flashing over it on the minimap, but if you scroll around the map so it shouldn't be on the minimap it shows up at 0,0 (top left) and blinks there, even if it really shoul...

Re: Version 2.1 beta 4 released and other news

Well, the warzone community has once again outlasted the original developers. Though I feel like it was once again Eidos's fault, though I am not so sure about this current issue.

Re: Another Power Generator (proposal)

Been looking for that polycount info, here is something interesting, this is from an interview regarding Crysis: Typical environments contain 1000-5000 total renderable objects, including static meshes and skeletal meshes. For reasonable performance on current 3D cards, we aim to keep the number of ...

Re: Another Power Generator (proposal)

well if you guys are concerned for sticking to warzone era type building perhaps smoke stacks and oil storage tanks are in order, but I am more interested in how the test turns out due to my recent undertaking, let me know how the converting works out for ya.... I have not been successful on that fr...

Re: Hosting MP on Vista

I use vista and have no problems whatsoever, but I can say that if you have vista and you try to run a opengl app, then your screwed if you have an ati card. (it doesn't work half the time and the other half has poor performance) The beta has some issues so I haven't ever gotten it to run, but they ...

Re: something I am working on.

thank you kage, that is exactly what I meant.

I find it similar to back when we experimented with 1.11 and 1.12, we had to find the limit before we could build right to it.

Re: something I am working on.

Well, we shall see, I want to get the cannon turrents finished, then I will stick them into the game and I will build a massive army of them and see how good it runs, right now I kinda ran into a snag with the converter, otherwise I would have tested it already. I have at my disposal 3 machines with...

Re: something I am working on.

I am trying to get kage's blend2pie exporter to work, I will attach both the blend and the pie file once I am done with both parts the barrel and turrent section(s). I am having a problem with the exporter, when executing it in blender the console has an error about not finding pie_common.py, so I p...

Re: something I am working on.

The outer circle has 16 points the inner one has 8, trust me this will not make the game be dog slow. I could have went crazy and applied subsurf to the mesh, but I left it as is. for instance here is the wire's of each model. edges from 12 to 524 verticies from 8 to 232 faces from 5 to 268 It reall...

Re: something I am working on.

I know the limits and I can say that this is well within what a more modern computer can do. It will definitly make the game have a required 1ghz+ computer requirement, but now a days it is hard to find something that slow. Let me know what everyone thinks, I am going to work on the green part next ...

Re: Where to get PIE editor?

Just as a wrap up for anyone who has questions, pieslicerDX 112 or 86 won't run on vista. Garrentied, it just won't. With the VB6 runtime and ocx files it still won't. The only way I saw was possibly messing with the source to make it once again recompile, but with all the converter scripts from 3dx...
