Re: research lab in development

One thing I really like about Company of Heroes are the building animations when someone is constructing the building. They are very smooth and animated. That should be a cool feature to add eventually. When you have a great building model like this, having the construction of the building, and the ...

Re: New Terrain

Just add a toggle in for turning on\off the new water so older machines don't need to worry about speed. If that is an issue I mean.

Re: New Terrain

Wowie!!!! You're awesome.. Pure awesome! And the boats look great too! Now all we need is in-game terrain deformation :D hehehe I know, knock it off.

Re: Terrain Textures

You can have the engine automatically place the models around where a specific texture is used. It shouldn't hurt performance much neither because you can have it only rendered within a small view plane.

Re: New Terrain

Yeah that looks awesome. The texture blending is so great. I played around with UnrealEd a long time ago and absolutely loved that feature. The only thing that looks bad is the tops of the steep mountains. I think you'll only to bring it "just so far" before being limited by the geometry limitations...

Re: WZ2100-esque

I did a formation editor in VB6 for the proposed engine way back in the day. That was a lot of fun. :) I don't have any of that source code anymore though hehe.

Re: interface proposal

Wow. What a great design. I really like the idea of improving the existing UI with the same look\feel but a bit more. Hopefully this would give the developers something to work with in adding any sort of programatic ability needed for modders to redesign the hud.

I wish I had this in-game now!

Re: WZ2100-esque

It would be awesome to get a few modelers to just start pumping out content and not worry about textures. Then texture guys to start working out textures.. :) Like a nice little factory. I'm a coder, but I hate C++. But of course all the work done so far on the engine has been spectacular. A far far...

Re: WZ2100-esque

You don't need to get crazy with detail to have a super beautiful looking game engine. Look at Earth 2160 or especially Supreme Commander. For today's standards, the warzone game system is still very cool, the graphics are far from par though. Improving the capabilities of the graphics engine should...

Re: T1 MOD

The easiest way to port it would be to auto update it to VB.NET and port it to MONO.
