Re: Smart Power Management: How Do They Do It?
First of all, decide what you want, and research only that: http://casual-tempest.net/projects/wz2100/ will give you the minimal research tree for a given selection of techs. Build as many oil derricks as possible - defenses are optional at first, as they take minimal resources to build, and they'll...

Creative Writing, hey? Now you've done it... ----------------- Aran was momentarily blinded as the dawn poked him the eye. He'd considered sleeping with his head at the other end of the bed, but the sunlight made a very effective alarm, and a Paladin was judged, among many other things, on his punct...

Re: Biggest Problem with Commander units?
That's something - one of the things I always loved about TA was the full physics on all projectiles. Not requiring the commander to have LoS to a target would be a great help - if it has been sensed or seen by any member of the assignees then the commander should be able to assign it as a target. M...

Re: VTOL's: The Official Discussion Thread
The main issue seems to be (at least in MP) that any increase in body points is accompanied by a sufficient slow down to provide defensive AA enough time to remove aforementioned additional body points. Realisitcally, the greatest threat to a bomber is - a fighter plane. Sure, AA will take down a fe...

Re: Research Tree "Cheat Sheet"
Just a basic PHP page which parses the text data files and sticks it into an array.
It's very simple - about 5 minutes work for any decent coder, but if the devs are intrested, I'm happy to share..

Re: Research Tree "Cheat Sheet"
Since this has proved so popular (:P) I decided to update the data files with the latest 2.1 ones (instead of the very very old ones it was using before) - so apologies if you're not playing 2.1, but hey, why not?

Re: Everything you wanted to know about Warzone's FMVs.
Wow, that's awesome news - it'd be nice to have a complete game, no matter the quality of the FMV's compared to the current day :P Music will be nice to have, if nothing else...or is that a completely seperate issue (I just noticed we've only been talking about FMV's in this thread...)? Oh, and thir...

Biggest Problem with Commander units?
I love the idea of the commander units - it's still one of the unique things about WZ that mark it out as a classic. But from the ocmments on here, and indeed in my general play, I'm noticing an aversion to their use. What is it that is keeping people from using them more often? For me, it's the use...

Re: Idea for Commander Group Supplies
This is an awesome idea - the commander unit (and the UI design of wz generally) does a lot to remove the headaches of micromanagement, but this really would make life a lot easier, and make commanders even more useful.

Oh - is that what the resistance circuits do? I thought they were some kind of damge resistance boost ('cos they used the same picture as auto-repair).
I've never got past the first set of campaigns in the single-player, so I only find out what a lot of stuff does through trial-and-error

Haven't really played the SP enough to comment... MP: There's something satisfying about taking down a target anywhere with the laser killsat, even if you can't do it very often :P Probably pulse lasers - stuck on a cloud of VTOLs they seem to rape most anything else, with archangels for taking down...
