Re: Donation drive is now live!
I've got a couple of site admin friends who moved from one host to another several times, so they're much more streetwise in that regard than I am. I gave them this link and asked if they know of anything cheaper with the same specs. What followed was a stream of questions, some of which I could ans...

Re: Donation drive is now live!
What are the minimum requirements for the server? Which ones are the most critical?
Are there any bottlenecks?
How important is disk I/O speed?
What's the estimated total space?

Re: Models by Jorzi (AR)
Yeah, gonna have to vote for the last version too. The first design might look more interesting as a bare low-poly, but the one three posts above seems to fit with the rest of the models better. I don't know why, it's just a hunch. And after all, tracks shouldn't draw too much attention, it's an RTS...

Re: Models by Jorzi (AR)
This is mega sweet.
Have you thought of maybe making the bottom part a bit larger (i.e. the one below the metal platform). It is a heavy body that carries a lot of weight after all, shouldn't it feel big?

Re: new propulsion system suggestion
Hello. I'm afraid tracks 2.0 would be too imbalanced as you described them. The first propulsion you see is wheels, which are made obsolete by hovers, which are faster and more durable than wheels. But in the campaign (since you started talking about the campaign) you don't get hovers until the very...

Re: New (turret)laser effects??
Thanks for the historical reference, but it doesn't really change anything. Sci-fi weapons like phaser and blaster are good and all that, but last time I checked, noone is turning WZ into Star Trek or SW. The only reason people wanted to change the current laser weapons was expectation based on comm...

Re: New campaign... Akward start...
There is, it has red, green, blue and teal. I take it you can't choose orange, grey and black because they're reserved for New Paradigm, The Collective and Nexus respectively. Having more colors (or better yet, a continuous palette to choose from) is something I'd really like to see. Oh well, devs g...

Re: Alpha 7.5 Campaign
I didn't build any relays or factories. Just one Rep Facility and a bunch of defenses to bunker-block all enemy landing spots (so that the moment they land, they immediately have something to attack and hence don't move around that much, giving bombard pits a better chance). I did the cams three tim...

Re: New (turret)laser effects??
At least the graphics wouldn't be hard to make :) I guess the main problem with the current system is making a beam which is the right length and doesn't move. What are the engine limitations on fire rate, projectile size and projectile speed? You could try something that the original dev team did:...

Re: big idea small topic
Nice idea except that would be another game entirely. Modding WZ to make that happen will probably take another couple of years. And I can definitely see a problem with letting anyone join at any given moment. Join > get bombed into oblivion by artillery > lose. Anyway, those 30 or however many minu...

Re: CB against mobile units...
The original poster did suggest (correctly IMHO) that The Seraph and Archangel Missiles should still be allowed to track targets. This makes sense, since these are guided missile systems with on-board tracking in the projectiles. Also, if you study the Tech Tree, you'll find Target Prediction Round...
