Re: Models by Jorzi (AR)
That looks absolutely stunning, Jorzi. It's amazing how much of the detail actually translates into the Warzone engine. Now, how's about getting your heavy MG model into the game so we can view the finished AR defense tower in all its glory?

Re: Cyclonator's Structure models
I suggest you to finish at least 1 model instead of making a lot of unfinished lowpoly models. Choose one you imagine best of all, create hipoly version, unwrap uvw, bake Ambient Occlusion, Normal map textures, edit textures manually and create diffuse texture, show us the result. something like th...

Re: Cyclonator's Structure models
Next up, here's my mortar pit. It actually took me quite a while to get this one just right, but I think the result was worth all the effort.

Re: Cyclonator's Structure models
Thanks! For good measure, here's my AA turret base as well. I actually did this model before doing the scavenger shelter, but since its rather simple and doesn't have a high-poly version, I decided to post the latter model first.

Re: My Heavy Cannon Model
Well, the low poly is about as simple as it can really get apart from being the original model, I'd say, and my intention is to bake the higher poly onto it.Goth Zagog-Thou wrote:Nicely done! Remember that you can texture-in some details as well, for reduced poly count.

Cyclonator's Structure models
So, it looks like I'm going to be modeling in blender for a lot longer. :P To get some experience, I decided I'd remake some of the simpler, structures in the game, particularly ones that likely aren't very high priority for the Art Revolution team. For starters, here's my take on the scavenger bunk...

Re: My Heavy Cannon Model
Here's the latest version, complete with smooth shading. I also decided to turn the circular bump on the top into a hatch of some sort. I dunno if it's for an operator or just maintenance, but hey, I think it looks cool.

Re: My Heavy Cannon Model
You're fast :) A few tips on hi-poly modeling, however: -Use smooth shading -To get an even sharpness to your edge, use edgeloops instead of just creases -Floating geometry is your friend, surface details don't need to be attached to the main mesh. Thanks for the advice. I've really just been model...

Re: My Heavy Cannon Model
Thanks. Anyway, after looking over the old model, I realized that I needed to make a few adjustments to my cannon's base. Here is the updated version along a higher polly one I made this morning. Its not quite as detailed as most of the other models on the forum, but I feel it mostly captures how I ...

My Heavy Cannon Model
Okay, so I just recently made a comment about how I felt no one had yet made an Art Revolution cannon model that captured the look of the old one. Just last night, I decided that I'd try my hand at making my own in Blender. Since I essentially did this over a morning without any prior experience in ...

Re: Models by Jorzi (AR)
Honestly, I feel like the cannons are the only first tier turret that nobody has nailed yet. Neither Jorzi's or Mangust's have the distinctive grey grill-things on the sides, and both their bases feels a bit off. I realize the old model was essentially a six sided polygon with a stick, but I still t...

Re: Models by Jorzi (AR)
Been looking foward to doing a comparison ever since I started following Art Revolution, and now that the first patch in ages has been released, behold! http://www.majhost.com/gallery/bk504/Computer-Games/Warzone-2100-Art-Rev/wzcomparison.png So, if anyone wasn't completely convinced of the awesomen...

Re: Structure Improvement
I agree, but since it looks great, perhaps the detail could be baked in.MaNGusT wrote: I don't think that "H" should be bump mapped, it should be flat.

Re: Models by Jorzi (AR)
Decided to take another look at the current version of AR, and when I booted up the trunk this morning, I was suprised to find that the framerate was back to its normal smooth self. I had originally thought that the choppiness I experienced before was due to the more detailed models, but it looks li...
