Well yes, the micromanagement problem.. Always a pain in the ass of people with ideas. But I think that if a player chooses to research upgrades or focus on placement of drillers is going to benefit them in the battle then that is up to them. Either it works or not is up to them to discover a balanc...

I like this idea. I support it. This could open up for some new strategies and mapping. I have a number of ideas, so I will list them. Let's keep the oil derrick and have the oil drillers. The wells are still important strategic points and then you could build these drillers but at a limited number ...

but you're right that lancer VTOLs are not used very much in multiplayer, in fact that I have never seen anyone do it .

Lol, i don't think it's *actually* effective (or cost-effective). The only really good use for rocket VTOLs is air-to-air combat; apart from this, you'd prefer bombers most of the time. not really when they are very effective against heavy tanks, 5 of lancers do massive damage when i barely scratch...

but aircrafts are not tanks but fast and mobile, thats what give them their advantage. i you put some rockets on a 20+ tonne tank it will not go fast, even if it lifts. The more an aircraft weighs the more it takes to make it lift witch requires more powerful expensive engines. Warzone2100 is not so...

yeah, i remember that you could design a VTOL with any bomb bay and then change the propulsion to something else like wheels. Fast little suiciders ^_^

I usually turn off Satellite up-link and AI don't use wide spectrum... prefect.
(i class the "satellite up-link" and "laser firing control" as super weapons and they disrupt game balance)
