Re: Troubleshooting - Game Crashes

That means your video drivers, you need to update them.
Most likely, but not sure. Warzone might pass an invalid pointer to GL, and be at fault even though the crash happens in the driver.

Re: Delay Reaction / Response Time

Philipp:Thanks for your response. I added a new samsung monitor and downloaded the most current version of the driver (albeit from 8/2007). While the video replay in the game is choppy, video / movies / streaming, etc are normal for my other programs. I recovered the version of the game I was runni...

Re: Delay Reaction / Response Time

Do you have current drivers for your hardware installed?

Philipp

P.S.: glxinfo or dxdiag output might help in finding out how current your drivers are.

Re: LAN games no longer working in 3.1?

Maybe a separate option on the menu to choose whether it's a LAN game or online game would help? So if it's a LAN game, WZ won't bother checking the lobbyserver. Such an option would be nice. But if, there is no such option, the lack of connection tot he metaserver should not make the interface unr...

Re: LAN games no longer working in 3.1?

Okay, setting masterserver to localhost in config elimkinates the annyoing delay. I can't test the other issues right now.

Still, the current behaviour seems like a warzone2100 3.1 bug to me. Not ebing able to contact the masterserver shouldn't make the menu unresponsive.

LAN games no longer working in 3.1?

I just wanted to play 3.1 for the first time in a LAN with friends. I remember, that a year ago that worked with then-current versions. Now, the moment I click on "Start hosting game" warzone2100 becomes very unresponsive. It takes about a minute to react to any click, which e.g. makes cha...

Re: NullBot starting position sensitivity

From what I saw during the games, I got the impression, that NullBot, when starting in the upper right corner is likely to get some groups of tanks stuck somewhere instead of using them efficiently.

Is there a way to have an AI-only skirmish, to test if that's what makes the difference?

Re: NullBot starting position sensitivity

I wouldn't call this map symmetric. It is oriented counter-clockwise; inner ramp may be preferable for attacking, at least for AIs, while outer ramp will most likely be rarely used by AIs. That's why, whatever player is chosen by nullbot@0 to die first, he will most likely move his tanks near nexus...

NullBot starting position sensitivity

I've been playing a few matches against AIs on the 5-player map that comes with 3.1. I played at the player at the bottom of the map, and used the default AI for the middle left and middle right players. I used NullBot and SemperFi for the upper two players. The map is rather symmetric. I'm not a ve...

Re: 3.1.0 has been released!

Just did my first quick game with this version. The game itself went great. But when in the end I clicked "quit" I just got a black screen, and had to kill -9 (normal kill wouldn't do). Philipp I was able to reproduce the issue once, but after rebooting it no longer appears. I suspect tha...

These are insignificant troubles with Nexus/Semperfi AI; earlier it used to cheat with templates (produce things that were not yet invented, mostly repair tanks), now it can't.
Which AI would you recommend to use in 3.1.0, and why?

Re: Intel Sucks, but more so with Toshiba

Intel drivers on GNU/Linux are excellent. Maybe do a dual-boot install and play 3.1 on GNU/Linux?
