Air-Raid Sensor
I first posted my idea for an air-raid sensor in my thread for VTOL bodies, but I thought it was a good enough idea to deserve it's own thread. How many times have you played WZ and established a respectable defensive force of aircraft, when the AI starts throwing fewer and fewer tanks at you. Your ...

Re: naval propulsion for heavy bodies
You cannot really play with naval units yet, since there is no way to build them. We lack a naval factory, and some good advantages for naval units that would make them worthwhile (such as larger hulls). For now, wouldn't it be sufficient to simply give naval units a damage and armor bonus, with a ...

Re: Strategies
Personally, I like to build an outpost dead center of the map (when possible) that i fill to the brim with flak cannons to knock enemy aircraft out of the sky, even when I'm not the target. Then, I use strike sensors to use my own VTOL's in a defensive manner, using cyborg teams to knock out any tru...

Re: Dedicated Airceaft Bodies
My biggest qualm right now is the speed reduction for the bigger bomb bays you can have. Currently, I've been experimenting with "fighter-bombers" using lancers/tank-killers with a bomb bay on one unit. It seems to work well, but it feels like I'm exploiting a glitch in the dual-turret fea...

Re: Dedicated Airceaft Bodies
With strong enough engines I guess you could make anything fly. F-4 Phantom II, anyone? But anyway, the biggest problem with the current bodies for VTOL use is, in order to have flight, you must produce alot of power in a lightweight package. The heavier bodies produce alot of power but are way too...

Dedicated Airceaft Bodies
I had an idea for a dedicated Fighter model/body set. You could still have your vengeance scourge/scourge VTOLS, but the other player that researched fighter bodies once he got his VTOLs will have faster fighters with a bit higher weapons load and a cooler look (Imagine four Raptor look-alikes knock...

Re: naval propulsion for heavy bodies
I actually remember starting a thread suggesting this very feature and in the end we settled on the opinion that WZ wouldnt be fit for a WWII-style navy but more of littoral one, although a 3 or 4 hardpoint battleship, or a cruiser with 1 or 2 re-arming pads would be sweet. as for the carrier/rearmi...

2.1 Beta 4: Plays Beautifully!
As it's been said, some bugs remain. However, the only one I've encountered was the out-of-sync multiplayer disconnect!
The music is great, gameplay is at its best so far!
(I also REALLY appreciate that the devs lowered the volume of the oil derrick sounds. THANK YOU SO MUCH)
Great work!

Re: 2.1 beta 4 problem !!!
I FOUND THE FIX! The problem is that the Main Menu is using a font that isn't installed on our computers. First, go into My Computer and find this file:"C:\Program Files\Warzone 2100\fonts\DejaVuSansMono.ttf" Then, copy it into "C:\WINDOWS\Fonts" and you're golden! (Although I st...

Re: Version 2.1 beta 4 released and other news
Uuh, the new Beta is unplayable.
The main menu is invisible.
It's clickable, but the words aren't there. I'm not the only one with this problem.

Re: Smart Power Management: How Do They Do It?
Hmm. Interesting strategy, mousemaster. The problem that has for ME though, is I don't usually have much of a strategy... well, other than to get VTOLs before ANYONE else, and to have at LEAST ripple rockets researched and set up in rows for defense... As far as pvp goes for me, well.. I've yet to a...
