I would propose, if in origin their mg had range like for T2 assault gun or cannon, than their flamers could have range like for inferno as T2 flamer variant. At last walkthrough attempt, at 3.x version, I used tracked retribution with scourge and lasers for direct fire. Rushing is your death because it activates all attack groups and all factories. Like in Gamma 1 you should stay near your LZ.
