I seem to remember some calculations in the guide code that might lead to that (things that were accounted for on a turret but not a defense); I was never able to get the guide code running on my machine so I was never able to test ideas for fixes that I had. I can see if I can find those bits and make sure they make sense.

Heavy Machinegun Hardpoint. Upgraded DPS: 31.1
Machinegun Guard Tower. Upgraded DPS: 31.1
Why is that so, when all other parameters related to damage are equal?
