Can AIs be used in MP games?

(sorry for the gazillions of new topics btw!)

I don't play MP, usually only SP skirmishes, so I was wondering if AIs can be used in MP games? If so, how does an AI, using the JS API, determine whether it's in an SP or MP game? (I want my AI to react differently based on how many human players there are)

It can, multiplayer games of humans vs. AIs are popular.

also is a good for those with spotty connections. and is also a good way to train your self.
