I strongly disaprove of LUA, At least if it's like gimps Script-fu language. every statement must be in parenthisess. and and the way local variables are handled is just short of evil. I've never so intensly counted parenthisess pairs in my life...

Errr, no, it is in no way like GIMPs Script-Fu (which is Scheme, a LISP dialect). A quick Google search would have told you that. It would also have told you that Lua's handling of local variables is not that different to most other languages (except that local must be used).

We have some Lua code (albeit poorly written) in trunk just to give you an example: http://developer.wz2100.net/browser/tru ... estapp.lua

And I've just noticed your post is a non sequitur.
