2120 rumours?

i was recently looking through afew things on warzone 2100. and came across somthing that seemed like a sequal which is warzone 2120. needless to say i was alittle excited so i came back here to gather more information and was running through the couple threads that were posted afew years ago.. i cam across the mod that black project had made. and was actually looking to actually have a crack at the game. realising that it was only in beta i was alittle gutted.

so i have a question that has been probably been on afew peoples mind..

is there actually gonna be a realease off this game. theres been afew sites that i have seen with various bits of information and i am intrested to fnd out if there is gonna be a squal to this or not.

Warzone 2120 was a planned expansion by pumpkin studios. When the project was cancelled, they released most of their work as a patch to the original game. That's part of the reason you never get all the later techs (like wyvern and dragon) in the campaign.

Hard to know about something that was not really out there even 10 years ago. Even in 99 we didn't hear much about 2120. Shame really... would have been a nice treat.

that is true i guess. still would of been intresting to find out more about the game i mean i for one would of loved to play that as i am a warzone fan

If Eidos had any plans regarding Warzone, they wouldn't have freed the game and granted permission to use the name, story etc.

They could still have freed the source but only given us limited rights to the WZ name or none. If the only things we got was the source code would the name have mattered? Granted, the name is whats draws people in, but you could have easily used meta tags to draw people to the site or pasted everywhere that it was a WZ clone or a new generation of WZ.
