Warzone Nostalgia (v0.2)
A small mod based on this thread: Non-Implemented Features List.
It's a skirmish/multiplayer mod playable only on master build, i can make it compatible with the latest stable release (2.3.7) if people want.
Let's go on what really matters. Stuff that are present in this mod:
- Default voice sounds changed the demo version ones of the game (LasSat fire voice is unchanged, yet).
- Super Gun (Overhauled Twin Heavy Cannon - Present in demo game)
- Super Gun Emplacement
- Tornado Flak Turret (Twin 80mm Air Defense Cannon - Present in demo game)
- Tornado Flak Site
- Devastator Missile (Bunker Buster Missile - Present in v1.12 retail patch)
- VTOL Devastator Missile
- Earth Shaker Rocket (Long Range SCUD-Like Rocket Artillery - Present in demo game)
- Earth Shaker Emplacement
- Dragon's Teeth (Improved Tank Trap Defense, this one replaces the Tank Traps - Present in demo game)
- Propulsion Upgrades (Mk2/Mk3 upgrades of vehicle propulsions - Present in demo game)
- Electronic Countermeasures (Jammer Turret/Tower - Present in demo game, i have no clue on how it works, if you know how, tell me them)
- Ionizing Turbine Engine (Tenth Engine Upgrade - Never implemented)
- Cyborg/Vehicle Bonded Laminates (Tenth Composite Alloy Upgrade - Never implemented)
- High Density Base Structure Materials (Tenth Base Structure Materials - Never implemented)
Plus, you'll get some bonus stuff on there:
- VTOL Truck/CB Spotter/Spotter/Repair Unit (Present in v1.12 retail patch)
- Twin Heavy Cannon (Twin 120mm Cannon - Present in v1.11/1.12 retail patches)
- Twin Heavy Cannon Hardpoint
- Lancer Bunker (this doesn't replace the Lancer Tower)
- Plasma Howitzer (NEXUS's incendiary artillery of last Gamma mission)
- Plasma Howitzer Emplacement
- EMP Mortar can now be researched & mounted on vehicles!
- Cyclone Flak Turret (replaces the crappy AA Flak Cannon)
- Cyclone Flak Site
- Inferno Hardpoint
- Bunker Buster Cyborg
- Seraph Missile Array renamed to Angel Missile Array
- Incendiary Howitzer renamed to Hellfire
- Fixed Command Turret Upgrades (increases Command Unit survival on battlefield)
... and some rebalancing done, but i won't list them all, since rebalancing is not the real purpose of my work but i'll try not to make it too unbalanced at least.
Updates - v0.2:
- Machinegun Bunker
- Machinegun Tower (Steel tower with MG)
- Twin Machinegun Bunker
- Twin Machinegun Tower (Steel tower with TMG)
- Heavy Machinegun Bunker
- Heavy Machinegun Guard Tower (Concrete tower with HMG)
- Flamer Guard Tower (the tower one is used by the enemy on campaign, while the hardpoint one isn't really used)
- Flamer Hardpoint
- Inferno Guard Tower (present only in Playstation version of the game)
- Assault Cannon Tower (present but not used in-game)
- Assault Gun Tower (same as previous one)
- More sounds updated.
- Some more balance tweaking.
- Nexus & DyDo AI tweaked.
Planned for next release (v0.3):
AI using the new features, (weapons, structures, etc)
Jump Cyborgs (Cyborgs that jump)
Proximity Bomb (Proxy defense, somekind of IED, you know)
Proximity Superbomb

Although, I would like this mod with 2.3.7. Could you make this mod compatible with it please?Black Project wrote:It's a skirmish/multiplayer mod playable only on master build...
Re: Warzone Nostalgia
Hey BP, I just want to say this mod is fantastic! You should add it to the Addons list.
This mod is perfect for players who are curious about the secrets of WZ's past, and for those who want to go beyond what the vanilla version of Warzone has to offer. To go explore. This is another total conversion mod, but it works and I've had no crashes or errors yet. A lot of the new sounds, weapons, and structures used come from pre-release Warzone betas. Some of which people may have never heard of.
And for those who want it to be released on 2.3.7, I would suggest you at least download the master build and put the mod in it. Just to give it a try. One nice feature about the master builds is that sensors don't focus all on one target anymore. The power system fills and empties as things get built, manufactured, researched, etc.
So all in all, this mod is great. The best one I ever played, in fact.

Re: Warzone Nostalgia
This is fine until the power gauge reaches 0, and you have no idea which process is getting the power it needs to complete. AFAIK the old system will be reimplemented...someday.Arreon wrote:... The power system fills and empties as things get built, manufactured, researched, etc.
...
This is why some features aren't implemented: http://forums.wz2100.net/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=7490&view=unread#p87241
Re: Warzone Nostalgia (v0.2)
You should add the Assault Gun Bunker to the list (if you haven't already). Last time I saw that was way back when I played through the campaign for the first time. I'm talking about the bunker with the Assault Gun on top (like the Light Cannon Bunker).
Oh and by the way, I talked with someone in my family about Electronic Countermeasures. Basically what they do is that they mess up radars. I assume that the Jammer Tower prevents sensors from seeing the area around the Jammer Tower. Useful for sneak attacks as the sensors can't target the incoming units. This is what I think it does.

It exists in current game. You should add the Assault Gun Bunker to the list (if you haven't already).

Re: Warzone Nostalgia (v0.2)
Yes, but there's a difference between the current bunker and the one I saw. The one I'm thinking of is the same shape as the Light Cannon Bunker and has an Assault Gun on top.NoQ wrote:It exists in current game. You should add the Assault Gun Bunker to the list (if you haven't already).

Re: Warzone Nostalgia (v0.2)
Hey BP, how goes the mod?
I hope you haven't abandoned it; it's very fun to play. If you're still working on it, when can we expect 0.3 to come out?

Back on topic:
About the Assault Gun Bunker, comparing to the Rotary MG Bunker, the're all the same, the only difference that the first one can shoot VTOLs, thanks to it's turret mounted outside of the bunker, while the later don't (mounted inside).Arreon wrote:You should add the Assault Gun Bunker to the list (if you haven't already). In the first time i've aquired the Assault Gun Bunker in Campaign Two (in the PSX version, i don't have sure if it was the same in the PC version, since it's been a looong time that i don't play SP Campaign), it was just like that one you has mentioned
However, as soon the player start Campaign Three, that mentioned defense is instantly replaced by the Rotary MG Bunker (with the turret mounted inside), no matter what he/she does.
I'll see about adding this interesting item later.
The main goal for the next version is bringing Jump Cyborgs to the mod, people who played the retail Warzone with 1.11 patch will mostly remember what i'm talking about. It's not hard to implement them, but requires me to pay attention closely.
Regards BP
Re: Warzone Nostalgia (v0.2)
I can't tell what version I am supposed to use in order to use this mod.
I went to Download and I have both version 2.3.8 and the Alpha master build.
Neither are compatible with this mod. What version(s) are?

Re: Warzone Nostalgia (v0.2)
This mod was supposed to be only compatible with the master builds, it works fine in 20110320 release but i'll see if it works on the last released master build (20110519)PacMan wrote:I can't tell what version I am supposed to use in order to use this mod.

Re: Warzone Nostalgia (v0.2)
The SourceForge link is dead for that version.
Luckily my amazing Google skills netted me this directory: http://wz2100.net/~cyp/
It has a copy of 'warzone2100-master_20110320.exe'.
The Nostalgia mod does not work with the current master build. I am about to check out this version and see if I can finally get this mod working.

Re: Warzone Nostalgia (v0.2)
Could someone upgrade this mod to work for warzone master 3.1beta releases?
Re: Warzone Nostalgia (v0.2)
Is this possibly compatible with 2.3.9?
