[release] The Long Game

Here is my first version of my long term game mod.

The changes are pretty simple. I've increased the research time for everything by 100%

This is a mod for everybody who wishes to enjoy his inventions, instead of rushing through the tectree.

Soon I will add other versions, that will increase the research time by 200% and even 400%

Update

To make the mod easier I changed the functions instead of the unit stats.

The Research points for the research center as well as the upgrades have been reduced from 14 to 6
Also I have increased the Power of the Power generator from 55 to 75, to give you some advantage at the beginning, since the upgrades take longer now.
And you should really start with researching your first weapon, since it takes some time ;)



Intallation:
Get the latest version of Warzone here:index.php?topic=718.15
Simply replace the mp.wz file with the new one (make a backup)

else
download the functions.txt and copy it into the mp.wz/stats folder
and the research.txt and copy it into the mp.wz/stats/research/multiplayer folder

I've also added a version for Warzone 2100 2.0.7


Things to come

Next I will increase the effect of veteran units.

Can you make a .wz MOD out of it? There's a new Wiki page which will list all MODs currently supported by Warzone.

Here's a little MOD guide.
If you have difficulties making a MOD just ask.

You could save yourself a lot of work, if you would just change one value in functions.txt.

When you are on the research-screen you can see a yellow bar on those research facilities. If you add a research module or research better synaptic link-tech you will see the bar getting longer. The size of the bar reflects your "research power".

Updates on the research power work with percent, so when you just use the half value for the research facility's research power, you also add +100% research time to everything. Plus, people that do research-mods can combine your mod with their research-mod.

I did Try to test your mod BUT wz crashes with C++ error...

in wz folder in stderr.txt uppers string:
"error:      Research Points too high for research topic - Heavy Body - Vengeance "

BTW long  research idia is good :) I already want to see a workable "mod" or "patch" ...whatever..  First machingun for 1 or 2 min......It Will BE something :D...... I like it realy :)

hm...... What wz version do you use ? MP.WZ is not the same as in 2.0.7.

I recommend you to make a MODS for stable versons...like 2.0.7.

Afaik you cannot change these values with a mod, you have to change the source-code in order to modify the stats for the ranks. ;_;
