Compiling original source code
Compiling original source code
HI all, I am trying to compile the original source code for testing purposes, I am not sure what tools I need to get it to compile, as I hear it is a bit diffrent to compiling the current code...any help would be most appreciated.

Re: Compiling original source code
You will need the Glide SDK as well as the DirectX 6 SDK. I think there were a couple other things to look out for but I remember it wasn't too tricky. If you continue to have trouble then PM me and I can get you through it.
Re: Compiling original source code
BTW if you have a hard time finding the Glide SDK then let me know, I've got it somewhere.
Re: Compiling original source code
I can't seem to find the SDK or Microsoft Visual Basic 2005 edition...Would I be able to use the 2008 edition?
EDIT - I got the Microsoft Visual Basic 2005 Express Edition.

Microsoft Visual Basic?
The game's original project files were for Microsoft Visual C 6 ("MSVC6"). No idea if you can even run that anymore on modern versions of Windows.

Re: Compiling original source code
Thanks for the tip, I have no idea how to compile this...what program should I use? I have access to Windows XP, Vista and 7...What OS would be best to compile?

Windows 3.1 for the full old-skool experience? What OS would be best to compile?
Re: Compiling original source code
Windows XP would probably be best, at least initially. But it would be a very good thing to get it working under winXP and then migrate immediately to Vista or 7. You would probably need to upgrade the DX interfaces to DX8, which wouldn't be too much work, I don't think.
