WZ2100 on the iPhone

Post by Odin79 »

Warzone 2100 the iPhone App

I know may have asked for it, so here it is. It's been a long time coming. It's not quite complete so it's not in the app store yet, but I though I would share it with everyone anyways.

What Works:
  • Campaing
  • Skirmish
  • Saved game
  • Two finger zoom
What Doesn't work
  • Multiplayer
  • Mods
  • Custom Maps
Still a lot of work to be done, but it's getting there.

Good try...

I was planning to trick everybody on the forums with the release of the Warzone 2120, but i fear that trick will be too nasty to i get a nice ban :stressed: :lol2:

Next year i'll do it...

... and happy april's fool day! 8)

Since you are porting it to the iphone... you would only have to modify the screen size to get it to work on the ipad which wold be MUCH better because it has a bigger screen :)

Mobile Warzone 2100, cool :D

But without MP, boring... Perhaps bluetooth would be an alternative?

Erm, are you suggesting multiplayer as an alternative to multiplayer? English doesn't work that way. O_o

Also, the iPhone supports EDGE, 3G, and WiFi internet. Why would we need to use bluetooth? O_o

Actually, warzone is known to work on some nokia (with the last version which had a software renderer)

Hence my point bout the ipad... you only have to modify the screen size for the iphone app and voila! an ipad app on an ipad with a 10" screen.

You know, it's possible to stream a Windows box to the iPad - who's saying that Warzone 2100 is impossible to play on the iPad right now? ;)

We have a way to allow iphones and ipads to communicate with each other and are looking for anyone who would be willing to really do the port. This is not a joke and I just came across your community yesterday.

To be specific, our library works with internet, local wifi, bluetooth, and we have apps in the store that can connect 10 or more devices together to create cool cross device experiences. Not only that, but our library works on other devices too, making it really interesting for game development and gaming when people don't have the exact same device, but love to play multiplayer.

So, please visit here for a youtube video and see for yourself....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ATImHHnJXk -> Ball Blast (up to 10 devices, free in the App Store)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6StUb2YrgRU -> Sports Games (football, lite version is free in the App Store...has mobile notifications for challenging friends that aren't online, but would be willing to play.)

Has anyone really attempted to do this yet? What are the problems with doing this on a small device or on the iPad? We can actually make this a reality, but are trying to choose wisely as a showcase for our library (not really for commercial gain.)
