When I found this page I was thrilled!
The soruce code to one of my favorite games has been released! yay!
I have spent the last hour or so reading on this forum and one thing is still unclear.
What exactly is this project trying to do?
A complete re-write of the code to make it more mod-friendly?
I am thrilled by this project..but..?

Ohhh, errmmm.... Noooo.
Actually we are trying to modificate the sourcecode to make it more mod friendly, improve the performance, graphics and to implement features we would like to have in a RTS game.

Re: I am thrilled by this project..but..?
I am way to busy atm to dig into the code (moving in 4 days -eek) , but how does it look in there?
Depending on how it looks today - those changes you mention might sooner or later result that you have changed (parts) of the entire original source code. yay for that!
And what exactly is the changes from the original 1.10 to 2.0.5? Is even 1.10 the "base?"
Re: I am thrilled by this project..but..?
well, as long as our changes are granular, that should be a good thing: incremental rewrites are far more immediately usable. a full rewrite could take a year before we'd see any benefit, and it's hard to keep groups going at that.
