I strongly disaprove of LUA, At least if it's like gimps Script-fu language. every statement must be in parenthisess. and and the way local variables are handled is just short of evil. I've never so intensly counted parenthisess pairs in my life...

Errr, no, it is in no way like GIMPs Script-Fu (which is Scheme, a LISP dialect). A quick Google search would have told you that.
