How to install .wz mods on Mac?

How to install .wz mods on Mac? Every result I've found so far leads to dead links or outdated information. I've tried the WZModManager but that simply throws an error when I try to open it or drag a .wz mod onto it, probably not updated for recent MacOS as it was developed a few years ago?

Start the game > Options > Click the "open configuration directory" link in the bottom-left corner > mods folder (probably has some versions for multiple releases, just choose the most recent one). Then you can put mods in autoload to automatically use them.
