The problem of Chinese character display
my os is windows 10 Chinese edition.
I run warzone 2100. Menu text is box. It can't display correctly.
I rename folder locale/zh_CN to other names. Then menu text is correct in English.

You need to install a font, or point it to use a different font that has the character set that you need.

Isn't there an option during setup for that? Or does that not work anymore?

OP, did you do this? I don't recall if you have to hand edit the fonts.conf file after you enable that or not.cybersphinx wrote:Isn't there an option during setup for that? Or does that not work anymore?
You might.
You can also copy the font into Warzone's font directory.

Re: The problem of Chinese character display
I have not hand edited the fonts.conf file after install.
The problem screen is 58.
Can you tell me copy which font files into Warzone's font directory? I have 197 font files in C:\Windows\Fonts.

Re: The problem of Chinese character display
Maybe the change to harfbuzz for font rendering doesn't use fontconfig anymore? If so, that whole part of the installer is useless, and should probably be replaced by an option to download a Chinese font instead (which then might need mapping to languages that use it).
