Sensor Cyborg
Sensor Cyborg
Has there been any discussion about including this unit type? Would it be worthwhile? I think so because there are some games where you can do a cyborg rush with arty and it would be nice to be able to get a sensor unit without needing to build a factory.

Re: Sensor Cyborg
let's be realistic, for a sensor you need something like phased array, thhat consist of thousands small antennas. And you need good height for it, to have any range. And complicated radio transmission to send all this data. as well you need a lot of power (10's of kilowatts) to power it. I don't think that decent radar can be mounted on something so small any soon, even with all our technologies...
P.S. offering something just because you don't want to make a factory is kind of selfish =)
P.P.S. I like to see more scout units anyway, planes, helicopters, drones, cyborgs, whatever. But wheeled buggy is not so bad.

Re: Sensor Cyborg
Even with all our technologies we don't have tanks with unlimited ammo...
Maybe a Cyborg "Scout" type unit that could have a little less sensor radius than a sensor turreted tank. It could include a little "drone" that hovers above it to make things more realistic in terms of getting sensor height. Also infantry units today are used to "paint" targets with lasers to guide in missiles and such.

Re: Sensor Cyborg
okay, laser guidance is a good example...
Re: Sensor Cyborg
one year ago you have a discussion with NoQ, how to solve the Alpha 11 mission as fast as possible. You was the first player here to see, what borgs can do. You was right. The borgs are very important. Nice to see, that you want to have a progress in this way. Not for the campaign. But for MP-games it would be nice to see some Sensor Cyborgs. Many ideas in last times-nothing concrete. Your Ideas are very good.Rommel wrote: I think so because there are some games where you can do a cyborg rush with arty and it would be nice to be able to get a sensor unit without needing to build a factory.
In case the WZ-game ends in a draw , the game winner will be determined by penalty shoot-out.
Re: Sensor Cyborg
So-whats about a Cyborg commander? Call him a "scout". A cyborg commander is absolutely necesarry.

Re: Sensor Cyborg
Thanks, you are right about the importance of cyborgs. With sensor type cyborgs it would be possible to have pure cyborg armies - backing this with arty and you have quite a sound strategy in certain situations.montetank wrote: one year ago you have a discussion with NoQ, how to solve the Alpha 11 mission as fast as possible. Re: Sensor Cyborg
So-you know-i am a specialist for the campaign- i solve NoQs time limit mod (a very good mod) very quickly. It is possible . So- i read your discussion about the Cyborgs, And you was right. WZ give us the chance to build Borgs( logically) to solve Alpha 11. So-i prepare 18 borgs in Alpha 10,There must be a reason. And i try it out. Great. In 8!!!! minutes i destroy the enemy cannon (the research one) and the mortars and the units. Ok-thats the campaign-what you are talking about is the discussion if Cyborgs are usefull. Absolutely YES. Yes! I will win many games in the future with my lovely Borgs. But you are right- i am missing a "scout" Something like a commander.
