Models by Alpha93
I once thought about starting doing 3D modeling for WZ and gave it a try. That time I failed completely as I couldn't get to work with Blender. Then again I was 14 years old.
Now that I'm almost 21, I gave it a try again and somehow managed to make something decent.
Ladies and gentlemen, I hereby present my first attempt at one of my most loved weapons, the HPVC.
Special thanks to Jorzi for giving me tips so far. Mind that this is still a work in progress and might not be representative of the final product.
As for the polycount, original hipoly model was at 2400ish tris, this one is down to 345 after a LOT of optimization.
Edit:
Improved the model (I still have the WZ-like model though) and made space for the gun mantlet thingie then added a bore evacuator
I tried to get the polycount as low as possible, even though it's already as low as 359, but Blender is "Working as intended" according to this so I couldn't reduce it any further.
Edit #2:
After another lot of optimization (again, thanks to Jorzi) the model is at 250 tris

Toyed around a bit to see how it could look ingame. Note that the entire thing isn't scaled yet.

Re: Models by Alpha93
A few subtle changes have been made to the model.
I should be able to start working on a highpoly version for texturing soon.

Eye-candy:
HPV hipoly rendered with smooth shading
Edit: hatch needs some fixing, but the final product will be close to this.

And here it is, the final version of the HPVC, with high poly barrel aswell (no high poly bore evacuator, will post it later).

Re: Models by Alpha93
Nice model. How much polygons?
Re: Models by Alpha93
Hipoly is sitting at 1,3k polygons (including the hidden lowpoly barrel), low poly will probably be around 200-250 as I will extract the low poly turret from the highpoly on this and remove all the details.
EDIT:
Finished the low poly version. Tris count is lower than I expected: 172.
While I'm at it I'll post something aswell as eye candy:

Now that looks sweet. Would be nice to see that in game

Re: Models by Alpha93
Very nice!
Re: Models by Alpha93
Nice! I like it very much. Something minor about the barrel however: Maybe it might also be textured with some camouflage and probably the bore evacuator could be a bit longer (leaving the total length of the barrel constant).
Re: Models by Alpha93
First look ingame with artrev, I'll probably desaturate it by a LOT.

Re: Models by Alpha93
The yellow aura seems to be on most of the stuff when using AR, so I'm assuming this is a shader issue. Anyway, desaturated the base color and seems to be much better
Edit: seems to be a mirroring issue.
Fixed and here's the final result

Congratulations on completing all parts of a true hipoly-lowpoly workflow
