3.1 Add-ons: failure to get maps to appear

Post by Mantis10 » 28 Mar 2013, 12:41

Tried installing new add-ons for 3.1 (Windows 7 Pro 64bit)
Tried instructions on this site and warzone.atlassian.net -- failed.
Tried -- Program Files(086)\Warzone 3.1.0
Tried -- Desktop - Libraries - Documents - Warzone 2100 3.1
Tried -- C: - Users - (myname) - My Documents - Warzone 2100 3.1
Failed
The mod changes the campaign terrain colours.
No new maps appear in the Challenge list.
Could someone please give me precise instructions of where to place new add-ons.
Can they come with installers?
PS I don't know DOS syntax so I failed with instructions to find the dir via cmd.exe.

What addon are you trying to install?
This is why some features aren't implemented: http://forums.wz2100.net/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=7490&view=unread#p87241

Thanks for replying -- not sure I understood everything.
Tried adding -- 2c-Breach-1-01.wz, 2c-OldSeaport.wz, 2c-Omega.wz
Probably best to stick with Breach.
Attached are 2 screenshots of the 2 different(?) locations of Warzone.
I think they point to the same destinations (?)
Does this help?

I think all of those go into the Maps folder, which is in the Warzone 2100 3.1 folder in your 2nd screen shot.

Show maps in the folder please.
a screenshot of the map folder opened
Also, I hope you realise how to see two-player maps and not only 4-player maps.

Attached screenshot of contents of map folder.
I'm picking 2-player maps. I assume these are usable in Challenge or Campaign (?)
If not, can you please clarify.
I only do single player and want more campaign and challenges.

Sorry, didn't understand -- have mental processing problems.
Are there going to be new campaign and challenge maps?

maps could also be a challenge

for example: try a 6 player map - you vs 5 bots
modify the bots ... (nexus, nullbot, semperfi from easy to insane)

but you must click on "skirmish" and then select your map

could be very funny - today i played my longest game ever on one map
me and 2 nexus bots-normal against 8 nullbot-bots-insane takes over 5 hours and i kill 8300 units :P
"unit is under attack!", "unit is under attack!", unit is under attack!" then i wake up ... (true story)

Single-player challenge maps currently need to be installed into mods/autoload.
Only then they will appear in the challenges menu.

Other maps are for skirmish games, they need to be accessed from the skirmish menu.

Can I use any of the new maps as challenges?
Whilst I can complete the campaign and 'back to basics' challenge at hard level; I can't get anywhere with skirmishes at easiest level!!!

Thanks.
Now that I understand about the Skirmish I have successfully played several of the new maps in skirmish 2 player mode.
Thanks for the help everyone. You've probably guessed I'm not the youngest of people!! :-)))
