3.1 rc 3 is now out!

Post by Cyp »

3.1 Release Candidate 3 is now available at our Source Forge web page for all platforms, and that is located at the usual location:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/warzone ... s/3.1_rc3/

NOTE: Window's Intel integrated graphics users. If you are crashing in ig4icd32.dll as shown in your Warzone2100.RPT file, then please try turning off shaders. There is nothing else that we can do to fix it for intel people, so please report all bugs to Intel so they can fix their problems! http://www.intel.com/support/feedback.h ... s#graphics

Bug Reports:
This release probably contains bugs, please report them so they can be fixed. If you have trouble getting the game to work at all, consider a forum thread, you will probably get help faster that way.

See BugReporting for details, in short:
  • Search the existing tickets for your problem, if the problem has already been fixed in git, the ticket will be closed.
  • If there is an open one already, feel free to add more info to it.
  • If there is no report yet, make a new ticket (one per issue).
  • Be as detailed as possible in both summary and description, and either log in with your forum account or leave an email address so we can contact you if we need more information.
  • The more information we have, the easier it is to fix problems (or the other way around, the harder it is for us to reproduce a problem, the less likely it is to get fixed), so include savegames/instructions to reproduce the bug, crashdumps, backtraces, screenshots for graphical problems... whatever is relevant.
  • When you attach files to a ticket, please add each text/image file separately and uncompressed, so we can view them easily in trac (savegames can and should be zipped, they consist of name.gam, possibly name.es, and the files in the name/ folder).

Hmm, this has a major impact on balance in longer games. I thought it was intended as a tactical decision that you can either attack or being auto-repaired. I wiped 3 bases of nullbot enemies with a gang of 20 assault gunners without any loss. Usually, I lose about one half of them in the first attack.
Also I noticed that units I had given order to recycle went to a cliff above a walled-in factory they could not reach instead of a more distant factory that was reachable.
Path-finding is still not perfect, but I assume that's a tradeoff between performance and quality. My wife especially hates the folk dancers: when you deliver an engineer and 3 or 4 mechanics to the same point, the mechanics walk an endless circle around the engineer, thereby blocking the engineer when he's ordered to build something.

Anyway, it seems to be very stable (I only played skirmish), and I had no performace issues. 3.1 is going to be great version, thanks to all who contribute!

Is anyone else experiencing "silent" weapon fire? Specifically things like Stormbringer and Incendiary Howitzers, etc...

I will gladly beta test for you people, but I need a Tech tree. I also keep having problems closing down the program. Whenever I click "Quit Game" or press the Start Menu button, the game will sometimes crash and I have to force re-boot my computer. I am using the PortableApps.com version of this game.

I have a problem with the PortableApps.com version of this game. Almost every time I click "Quit Game" or press the Start Menu key, the game crashes and I have to force re-boot my computer.

Tech tree: http://guide.wz2100.net/r/tech-tree

No idea about any portableapps.com version of any game (probably not supported by us, if it exists), but it shouldn't be possible for it to crash your computer, even if it wanted to.

Try updating your video drivers. If that doesn't help, try the official version from wz2100.net.
