Caanoo Port

Post by rohezal »

The Caanoo is small linux device (open gl es 1.1 [but the driver is not the best]).

750 mhz soc cpu / gpu (magic pollux)
128 MB RAM (16MB for gpu, 80 useable)
320x240 screen resolution
and use sd cards for data.

Since there is a ps1 version of warzone... can there be a caanoo port [since it got way more power then the psx]?

Is the 640x320 resolution a must have since the hub wont work on smaller ones?

Nope, you would have to do extensive changes to make it work on that platform with that limited res & memory & CPU.
Yes, it did work for the PSX, however, that wasn't even close to what the PC people had, it used custom PSX routines for most of the stuff, and that wasn't included. They also had a software rendering engine, and that might work, but with 320x240 to play with, that is just too small for pretty much all the huds / menus.

I suppose if you really tried, you could make a mini Warzone out of it though.
