Not for now. In WZ, you are a general with direct link with each unit : You can give orders at the unit, but after that it's the unit who try to obey.

you can 'almost do this...

while on a unit press spacebar and your cammera will follow the unit, you can then send him places from here, it would be easy to be able to move the unit around, but firing i don't know..

actually if your in camera follow mode and you come upon (an) enemy vehicle(s) - just target that vehicle(s) manually and they (your units) will attack ( with you following in their wake).  have tried this with vtols with great success...also works with all propulsions. ;D
‎"to prepare for disaster is to invite it, to not prepare for disaster is a fools choice" -me (kim-lav_coyote25-metcalfe) - it used to be attributed to unknown - but adding the last bit , it now makes sense.

in my not very humble opinion netcode and GUI code need to be fixed before any attempts of re-implementing first-person drive mode can be made...
tasks postponed until the trunk is relatively stable again.

I think, given WZ's code's age (no offense meant) it would be hard, to say the least, to implement the fuction. You'd have to do tons of stuff to make it work.

Although I DO admit it'd be cool to kick ass in FPS.
