Well, you don't have to throw this one away and start anew, you could leave it like this and instead texture another building. It's just that bigger textures look much better ingame.

hmm, the weapon plates were too small, so i made them bigger + it extrudes a bit inside the hq.
this would be the fully upgraded command center, the idea of a stronghold
it could hold 5 weapons, afaik savegames only supports 4 weapons. but 3 should be ok...
how do you like it? do you like the proportions? (mind you its 2100 not 1980 http://wiki.wz2100.net/Style_guide) the fully upgraded hq has much of nexus style

Its very COOL! But i hope youll forgive me if i say it... it looks less and less like an HQ and more like defence fortress upgrade or TOS starbase! lol,still i love it!

It looks absolutely fearsome. But I have to agree with the other poster, that it starts to look more like a powerful defensive building than a HQ. Which may not be a bad idea, either.

towards a medieval siege mid-set of game play. this defensive fortified HQ fits that and I imagine will be fun which is
what this is all about - enduring fun, not just a fading novelty, as i see it..
if a non-fixed power resource lke solar were introduced then the bias towards medieval siege would shift more towards
the RL 21st century doctrine of battlefield operations wherein HQ is defined by what is called Counter Mobility & C41
which i do believe could provide another flavor of deep RTS fun - in other words, the best HQ defense under that paradigm
would be a nimble counter mobility and not an entrenched structure fortified with defensive weaps....

update...
i developed myself a new way of texturing (as i didn't find an appropriate tutorial to create such textures)
i create the model and arrange the uv-mesh in blender, then i use the plugin 'save uv-face layout' to svg, then i use inkscape to fill the polygons and then import the resulting image in gimp, where i finish it. i don't know if the texture is finish yet, i thought it'd be better to ask you what you think..
