Hi, new to the forums (though not to Warzone 2100)
I'm quite skilled in Blender and I'd like to work out improving the models and textures from Warzone without going to far off style... though I haven't found any tutorials about it.
Could somebody tell me how I modify the models in Warzone?
Thanks ^^

Well at the moment there is no pie to blender importer but you can use wmit to convert pie to object format.Tattorack wrote:Could somebody tell me how I modify the models in Warzone?
If you load a model into blender you can get the scale and the general look of the model right and go from there.
In the wiki there is a lot of info on models http://developer.wz2100.net/wiki/Artwork
Here is a link to WMIT http://www.gitorious.org/wmit I don’t know if its the latest version.
I use a very early wmit because I only need to convert pie to object.
PS: I use Misfit mm3d modelling program.
PPS: here is another repo of wmit https://github.com/cybersphinx/WMIT you will need QT4 to compile it and the other one above.

Hey thanks! That really helps! ^^
Kind of a bummer bones aren't supported; I'm pretty good when it comes to animation...

What we do have that you can change and editor is texture animations on the structures so far.Tattorack wrote:Kind of a bummer bones aren't supported; I'm pretty good when it comes to animation...
Also there maybe possible ;later to animate levels of the pie files thats using an ANI format.
pie format http://developer.wz2100.net/wiki/PIE_format
pie models http://developer.wz2100.net/wiki/PIE_models
ANI format http://developer.wz2100.net/wiki/AniFormat
You will find that the main pie format ATM is PIE2
PIE3 has flouting points which is greate for small barrels or wheels etc but I dont think the animation flag works in this format.
If you wish to convert back to pie the wmit does it but I'm not sure if it converts to PIE2.
What operating system are you using?

Re: Improving the models
Currently I'm using all portable programs on crappy windows hardware.
The software is Vista.
Also, I'm terrible when it comes to sprite animation, I'm much much better with bones (so I guess I'll have to lay off the ideas on remaking the cyborgs >_< )

Re: Improving the models
Surprise surprise cyborg use level animation you can edit them in the ani files they dont use a full texture animation like in a pie2 4000 animation flag.
I have a obj to pie converter it was compiled on xp so it might run on your machine.
there is a python user interface to go with it but it dont need it if you dont have python installed
http://sourceforge.net/p/wzgraphicmods/ ... j2pie-win/
